Award-winning country duo Maddie & Tae are set to perform at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 7:30 PM as part of the Mentor Rocks summer concert series. The pair, consisting of Maddie Font and Taylor Kerr, are known for their close harmonies, honest songwriting, and impressive career achievements. They will be performing songs from their upcoming album What A Woman Can Do, set to be released on September 13, featuring their latest single, "Free Like."
Maddie & Tae first rose to fame in 2013 with their platinum-selling hit "Girl In A Country Song," which challenged the prevailing "bro-country" trend and became a chart-topping success. Over the years, they have amassed multiple awards, including the CMT Group/Duo Video of the Year in 2022 and trophies from the CMA and Radio Disney Music Awards. Their album The Way It Feels featured the 3x platinum No. 1 hit "Die From A Broken Heart," solidifying their position as trailblazers in country music.
Mentor Rocks draws large crowds to its all-ages, festival-style weekly events, with over 92,000 people attending in 2023. In addition to the music, guests can enjoy a wide selection of food and beverages from local vendors. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for seating, as outside food is permitted but alcohol is not. 🏘️ Home Window Care: Easy Ways to Extend the Life of Your Windows
Windows play a vital role in any home, providing natural light, ventilation, and a view to the outside world. However, they often get overlooked when it comes to regular home maintenance. With just a little care, you can ensure that your windows stay in great shape for years, preventing expensive repairs down the road. Here are some effective DIY maintenance tips to keep your windows in top condition.
1. Clean the Glass Regularly
The simplest way to maintain your windows is by keeping the glass clean. Over time, dust, grime, and water spots can accumulate, especially on exterior windows. Use a mix of water and mild detergent to clean the glass, wiping with a microfiber cloth to avoid streaks. For stubborn dirt or smudges, vinegar diluted with water can work wonders. Regular cleaning not only keeps your windows looking fresh but also allows more light into your home.
2. Check for Drafts
A drafty window can increase your energy bills by allowing heat to escape during winter or cool air to seep out in the summer. Periodically check for drafts by holding a candle near the window edges—if the flame flickers, you may have a leak. Apply weatherstripping or caulk to seal any gaps, ensuring your home stays energy efficient and comfortable.
3. Inspect and Maintain the Frames
Window frames, whether made of wood, vinyl, or aluminum, need regular attention. Wooden frames should be checked for signs of rot or peeling paint. If you spot any damage, sand down the affected area, apply a primer, and repaint as necessary. Vinyl and aluminum frames can be cleaned with mild soap and water. If you notice any cracks or warping, consider using sealant to prevent further deterioration.
4. Lubricate Moving Parts
Windows that open and close easily are a sign of good maintenance. However, over time, the moving parts of your windows can become stiff, making them hard to operate. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to hinges, tracks, and locks to keep everything moving smoothly. Avoid oil-based lubricants, as they can attract dirt and cause buildup over time.
5. Inspect Seals and Caulking
The seals around your windows prevent air and water from entering your home. Over time, caulking can dry out and crack, leading to potential water damage and drafts. Inspect the seals regularly and reapply caulk where necessary to keep everything watertight.
A little regular attention to your windows will help them last longer and perform better, keeping your home comfortable and your energy bills down. Taking the time to clean, lubricate, and inspect your windows can save you from costly repairs and ensure that they remain a functional and attractive feature in your home.
If your windows are just too far gone or in need of repair, have one of the local window professionals take a look at them. Here’s a list below of a few we found.

🏈 ESPN Projects Solid 2024 Season for Recovering Nick Chubb

Nick Chubb
The Cleveland Browns are approaching their final preseason game of the year with anticipation for the upcoming regular season. However, much of the focus remains on the potential return of star running back Nick Chubb, who is recovering from a serious knee injury that was once feared to be career-ending. Chubb's recovery has been remarkably swift, though no specific return date has been set.
ESPN recently projected Chubb to play in 10 games during the 2024 season, estimating he will rush 150 times for 727 yards and score five touchdowns, along with catching 17 passes for 137 yards. Although these numbers don’t predict a massive workload, they suggest a positive outlook for his comeback. Even a partial season from Chubb would be a major boost for the Browns, who will be careful not to rush him back to his former workload too soon.
In addition to Chubb’s hopeful return, the Browns will rely heavily on quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has struggled with consistency and health during his first two years with the team. If Watson can elevate his game and Chubb can contribute meaningfully, Cleveland’s offense has the potential to be dangerous. These two factors are critical to the team achieving its full potential in the upcoming season.
While a timeline for Chubb’s return remains unclear, the outlook is optimistic, and more updates on his status are expected soon.
