Silver Is Up 402% Since 2020. Gold, 186%

Silver has more than doubled gold's return since March 2020, even after a 53% correction from its January peak.
Our research team sees a familiar pattern. Silver's returns more than doubled gold's from 1974 to 1987. After the financial crisis, silver beat gold five-fold in three years.
The reason is size. In 2025, investors put about $15.6 billion into physical silver and silver ETFs, against $111.2 billion for gold. Small inflows move silver hard.
Silver is also in its sixth straight annual supply deficit. The Ultimate Silver Playbook explains what the team expects next. It's free.

🏃🏻➡️ Northern Ohio Half Marathon Brings Runners to Mentor This Morning

Runners will take to the streets of Mentor this morning, Sunday, October 11, as the Northern Ohio Half Marathon, Two-Person Relay and 5K get underway at Headlands Beach State Park.
The half marathon and relay begin at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m. The event features routes through northern Mentor, with Lake Erie providing a scenic backdrop for the fall competition.
Planning to visit Headlands today? Race organizers recommend using the park's east parking lot, as runners will be passing through the west lot near the starting area. Drivers parked on the west side may experience delays when leaving.
The event includes a 13.1-mile half marathon, a two-person relay and a shorter 5K. All three divisions are listed as full, meaning new registrations are no longer available.
The race also reaches the Mentor Lagoons area, where relay participants will exchange runners. Residents traveling through the Headlands and surrounding areas should be alert for runners and allow additional travel time.
➡️ Want to see where runners are headed? Our full race-day guide includes course map links, detailed parking instructions, water-stop locations and important information for relay teams and spectators.
📰 Mentor Plans Nearly $590K Renovation at Senior Center
A major heating and cooling system renovation is being planned for the Mentor Senior Center, a popular community gathering place serving more than 5,000 members.
The City of Mentor announced October 9 that it is seeking contractor bids for the project, which carries an estimated construction cost of $589,500.
Contractors have until 11 a.m. Friday, October 23, to submit proposals. The city has listed September 3, 2027, as the project's completion date.
Located at 8484 Munson Road, the 22,000-square-foot Senior Center offers fitness classes, educational programs, weekday lunches, social activities and services for residents ages 55 and older.
While the renovation represents a significant investment in the facility's infrastructure, several details remain unanswered.
The city has not announced when construction will begin, whether programs or operating hours might be affected, or which contractor will perform the work. The $589,500 figure is a preliminary construction estimate, not an awarded contract.
Members can contact the Senior Center at 440-974-5725 with questions about current activities.

⚡ Perry Nuclear Plant Could Add 213 Megawatts and Hundreds of Jobs
A major expansion could be coming to Lake County's Perry Nuclear Power Plant, potentially bringing hundreds of temporary jobs, increased electricity production and a longer operating future for one of the area's most important industrial facilities.
The U.S. Department of Energy announced October 5 a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to support upgrades at three Vistra nuclear plants: Perry and Davis-Besse in Ohio, and Beaver Valley in Pennsylvania.
Under the plan, Perry would gain 213 megawatts of generating capacity, enough to represent a substantial increase in electricity production. Across all three plants, the proposed upgrades would add 433 megawatts to the regional power grid.
The project could also bring new employment opportunities. According to News 5 Cleveland, Vistra expects approximately 500 to 600 temporary jobs at each plant during modernization work.
There's another significant connection: Vistra has a 20-year agreement with Meta, Facebook's parent company, to purchase nuclear energy and capacity from the facilities. The arrangement provides long-term revenue intended to help support the planned upgrades.
Perry currently holds an operating license through 2046. Vistra plans to seek approval to extend operations through 2066, potentially securing another two decades of activity at the Lake County facility.
The financing is not final, and the upgrades remain subject to regulatory approvals and other requirements. Vistra expects portions of the new generating capacity to begin coming online by 2031.

🛣️ NEXT STOP: An Afternoon of Flight Stories at MAPS Air Museum
A secret wartime diary. A bomber rescued from the wilderness. And an easy North Canton outing that proves you don't need to be an aviation enthusiast to find a remarkable story.
A wartime diary hidden in a sock. A bomber abandoned after a crash in Canada. At MAPS Air Museum in North Canton, these aren't separate curiosities—they're doorways into the people who made aviation history.
If you don't know a thing about airplanes, begin in the Gallery of Heroes. Find the display about Reamer E. “Buzz” Sewell Jr., an Army Air Forces navigator and bombardier whose B-26 was badly damaged during a mission in 1944. After parachuting from the aircraft, he was captured and later kept a secret diary during captivity. The museum shares that story through family-preserved materials. It's a reminder that an aircraft carried people, not just machinery.
Then visit MAPS' Martin B-26 Marauder. It isn't the plane Sewell flew. This particular bomber crashed in British Columbia in January 1942, before reaching its first assignment. Decades later, recovery and more than 14,000 volunteer restoration hours gave it a second life as a museum exhibit. Ask what it takes to save a machine once considered lost.
Save your third stop for the outdoor aircraft. Their size makes a different impression when you're standing beside them, so allow time for a slow look and a few questions.
This is a good outing for curious kids, adults who enjoy history, multigenerational groups and anyone interested in how things are built. You don't need to inspect every airplane.
Allow at least two hours—the museum recommends that as a minimum. Wear weather-appropriate clothes: the Gallery of Heroes is temperature-controlled, but many aircraft are outside. On a wet or chilly afternoon, spend more time indoors.
Leave room for a meal afterward. Around the table, ask everyone which story stayed with them. That conversation may be the best souvenir.
➡️ There's much more behind these aircraft than meets the eye. Visit our expanded Next Stop guide for the remarkable story of the recovered B-26, the personal history behind Buzz Sewell's secret diary, a simple first-visit route, museum hours and ticket tips, and a verified spot for a meal afterward.

⚾ GUARDIANS ARE ALCS-BOUND!
Cleveland Completes Stunning Comeback Against Chicago. Williams strikes out 12, Ramírez homers as Cleveland wins Game 5 and advances to face Tampa Bay.
From the brink of elimination to the American League Championship Series!
The Cleveland Guardians completed a remarkable postseason comeback Saturday night, shutting out the Chicago White Sox 2–0 at Progressive Field to win their American League Division Series in five games.
After dropping the first two games at home, Cleveland rallied for three consecutive victories to keep its World Series dreams alive.
Gavin Williams was spectacular. The right-hander struck out 12 Chicago hitters, matching a franchise postseason record, and carried a no-hit bid into the sixth inning. Remarkably, Williams had also recorded the final three outs of Cleveland's Game 4 victory just two days earlier.
José Ramírez delivered the game's decisive moment in the fourth inning, driving a low curveball from Sean Burke over the right-field wall for a two-run home run. It was his second homer in as many games.
A sellout crowd of 36,889 celebrated as Cleveland became just the 11th team in MLB history to overcome an 0–2 deficit and win a best-of-five postseason series.
Up next: The Guardians travel to Tampa Bay to open the best-of-seven AL Championship Series against the Rays on Monday night, October 12. Cleveland is now four victories away from its first World Series appearance since 2016.

Ohio is home to the longest covered bridge in the United States, stretching an impressive 613 feet. In which Ohio county would you find this bridge?
🐝 Buzz Fact: Covered bridges were once nicknamed “kissing bridges” because courting couples could steal a kiss out of sight of watchful neighbors. Back then, romance meant a horse-drawn carriage, a wooden bridge, and 15 seconds of privacy. Today, it means sitting in the driveway for 15 minutes because neither spouse wants to go inside and start doing chores.
