🎭 Mentor Theatre Brings Audiences Onstage for “12 Angry Jurors”

Mentor High School is doing something different with its latest theatre production: Instead of watching from the auditorium, audience members will sit right onstage, surrounding the actors.
Mentor Theatre's 12 Angry Jurors runs through Sunday, November 8, opening the school's 103rd theatre season with an unusually intimate experience.
The drama follows 12 jurors deciding a life-or-death case. As disagreements emerge, the story explores justice, personal assumptions and reasonable doubt. With spectators seated around the action, every tense exchange takes place up close.
Remaining performances:
Friday, November 6: 7 p.m.
Saturday, November 7: 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday, November 8: 2 p.m.
Performances take place at the Mentor High School Fine Arts Center, 6477 Center Street.
Tickets are listed at $12, but onstage seating is limited. Check current availability before attending.
Friday theatergoers should also be aware that Mentor hosts Strongsville in a football playoff game at 7 p.m. on the same campus. Allow extra time for arrival.

Your K-Cup Has Been Sitting in a Warehouse for Months
That grocery store pod? It was roasted long before it hit the shelf. Coffee starts losing flavor within weeks of roasting — which is why your morning cup tastes flat, no matter how nice your machine is.
Angelino's does it differently. A third-generation roaster in Los Angeles, they roast, grind, and seal every pod in-house for peak freshness, then ship it to your door within days of roasting. The difference is the first thing you'll notice: real aroma, real flavor, no bitterness.
Mix and match from 50+ specialty coffees, teas, and flavored blends — all Keurig®-compatible — and save more with every box you add, up to 34% off at 12+. Order once whenever you're running low, or subscribe for an extra 5% if that's easier. Entirely up to you.
New customers get 15% off their first order — applied automatically, no code needed.
Laketran Offers Veterans Free Rides Nov. 8–14

Mentor-area military veterans can enjoy free transportation for an entire week as Laketran recognizes Veterans Day.
From Sunday, November 8, through Saturday, November 14, U.S. military veterans can ride Laketran's Local Routes, Park-n-Ride, Dial-a-Ride and Rides on Demand services at no charge. Geauga Transit is also participating.
Getting a free ride is simple:
Local Routes and Park-n-Ride: Tell the driver you're a veteran when boarding.
Dial-a-Ride and Rides on Demand: Identify yourself as a veteran when making your reservation.
The offer can help veterans reach medical appointments, visit family, go shopping or travel to work without paying a fare.
One important detail: Regular service schedules still apply. Local Routes operate Monday through Saturday, while Park-n-Ride and Rides on Demand operate on weekdays. Dial-a-Ride offers Sunday service but requires reservations 1–14 days in advance.
Laketran will also operate on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11.
For trip information or reservations, call 440-350-1000.
⬇️ Planning to take advantage of the offer? Our website explains which routes serve Mentor, how to arrange a Sunday ride, important reservation details and a separate free medical transportation program that can help eligible veterans throughout the year.
Mentor Residents Invited to Help Shape New Historical Society Saturday

What stories about Mentor would you hate to see forgotten?
A new effort to organize a Mentor Historical Society gives residents a chance to help preserve them—and shape the group from the beginning.
An organizational meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at 1 p.m. at Mentor Public Library's Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Avenue. Everyone is welcome.
Mentor resident Janice Habinski, who co-wrote the 1988 book Mentor – A Retrospective with Ronald Prosek, is leading the effort.
This is an organizing discussion, not simply a presentation about the past. The group intends to address its structure, possible committees, publicity and future public meetings.
Why does that matter? The city's history isn't only found at famous landmarks. It also lives in photos of old neighborhoods, stories of former businesses and memories longtime residents can share.
You don't need to be a historian to take an interest. One good question or idea may help shape what the society does next.
⬇️ Want more than the meeting announcement? Our website shares three intriguing pieces of Mentor history, along with two free ways to preserve old family photos—even if you can't attend.

If You Needed Help, Could Someone Find the Right Paperwork?
Help Without Confusion · Part 1 of 3
A short “where to find it” list can save someone you trust a long, frustrating search.
If you were home recovering from surgery, could someone helping you find your insurance paperwork without bringing you every folder in the house?
Or, if you were away, could a trusted person locate the document you needed—and tell whether it was the right one?
That is the purpose of a “where to find it” list: simple directions to important paperwork, with a short explanation of what each document is for and whom to ask about it.
You can begin with papers you already have. Choose three that would be useful if you needed help, such as a home insurance policy, a health care planning document or a vehicle title.
For each, answer four questions:
What is it? Use the document’s name and add a plain-language explanation. “Home insurance policy—explains coverage for the house” gives someone a useful starting point.
Where is it? Write “office cabinet, top drawer, folder labeled Home Insurance.” If the original and a copy are kept separately, list both locations.
Is it current? Record the date shown. If you are unsure which version applies, write “needs checking” and ask the relevant professional.
Who can help? Add the name and verified phone number of the insurance agency, attorney or other appropriate contact.
Keep the list private. Leave out passwords, PINs, Social Security numbers and full account numbers.
Also remember: finding paperwork and having authority to act are different things. A person who locates your bank statement does not automatically have permission to access the account or move money. Confirm access and decision-making arrangements separately.
Finally, walk through one entry with someone you trust. If your directions leave them guessing, add the missing detail.
The benefit is straightforward: when you need a hand, the person helping can spend less time searching—and you can spend less time explaining.
⬇️ Build your own list with Evergreen’s “Where to Find It” worksheet, three completed examples and a plain-English guide to finding papers versus having permission to act.

🏈 Mentor Gets Its Second Chance Against Strongsville in Friday's Playoff Showdown

After a 56–30 loss in October, the Cardinals get a home-field rematch with their season on the line.
The Mentor Cardinals have been waiting five weeks for another shot at Strongsville. Friday night, they finally get it.
No. 3 Mentor (8–2) hosts No. 6 Strongsville (8–3) at 7 p.m. Friday at Jerome T. Osborne Stadium in a Division I, Region 1 playoff quarterfinal. The winner advances. The loser goes home.
Strongsville dominated the October 2 meeting, winning 56–30 while piling up 604 yards of offense, including 360 rushing yards.
But this Mentor team looks different.
Starting quarterback Brogan Jones is back after missing the first matchup. However, the Cardinals must move forward without injured running back Braylon Callahan. Ryan Orsog takes over the lead rushing role.
Mentor has responded to that October defeat with two convincing on-field victories, outscoring Shaker Heights and Euclid by a combined 73–3.
Strongsville brings momentum of its own, including a 32–0 shutout of Solon in last week's playoff opener.
The biggest challenge? Slowing down a Mustangs rushing attack that overwhelmed Mentor the first time around.
With the Cardinals playing at home and a regional semifinal berth at stake, Friday promises a compelling rematch.
⬇️ Can Mentor reverse October's result? See the three keys to victory, five players to watch, and where to get tickets or stream Friday's game in our complete playoff preview.
