🐎 Horse-Powered Fun Awaits at Farmpark This Weekend
Experience a weekend filled with engaging activities at Farmpark, where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of horses. Enjoy hands-on experiences such as driving a draft and mini horse, and capture memories with interactive photo displays. Witness demonstrations that hark back to a time when horses were essential for transportation, farm work, and powering equipment. Riders of all ages will showcase their skills in an obstacle course, highlighting the trust and bond between horse and rider.
A variety of horse breeds will be on display, featuring the charming mare and foal moments. Don't miss the opportunity to ride on Farmpark’s beautiful wagonette, pulled by one of their own horses. Explore many riding disciplines, including dressage, musical rides, breed introductions, and training sessions. The weekend will also feature all of Farmpark’s regular activities, ensuring fun for everyone.

📰 Kitchen Fire at Cobblestone Court Apartments Displaces Residents
The Painesville City Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at Cobblestone Court Apartments on May 15. The fire, which began in the kitchen, was quickly contained with the help of the apartment’s sprinkler system. Four occupants were displaced due to damage, but no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation with estimated damages at $50,000.
🚨 Police Respond to Social Media Threat Involving Lake Elementary
Mentor-on-the-Lake Police responded to a concerning social media post about Lake Elementary School on May 16. The post led to immediate safety measures and the involvement of local agencies, resulting in the identification and location of the individual responsible. Authorities confirmed there is no credible threat and have stationed a police officer at the school for the remainder of the day.
🪁 Family Fun and Charity: Soaring Hearts Event at Headlands Beach
Soaring Hearts, a fundraiser supporting Crossroads Health, invites everyone to Mentor Headlands Beach State Park TODAY, Saturday, May 18th, from 12-4 PM. The event aims to break the Lake County record by having 2,000 people simultaneously fly kites on the beach. Admission is free, and any donation will receive a kite. The event features entertainment, games, food trucks, and raffles, with all proceeds benefiting Crossroads Health’s services for mental health, recovery, and primary healthcare.

🥍 Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs Dominate Mentor Cardinals 19-5
The Mentor Cardinals varsity girls lacrosse team, faced a tough defeat against the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs in a playoff game on Thursday. The Bulldogs triumphed with a commanding score of 19-5. For Mentor, goals were netted by Ava Lee, Sydney Fink, Nele Schuppe, and two by Ella Predina. Despite their efforts, Mentor managed only 7 shots on goal throughout the game. Freshman goaltender Sammy McGinnis gave a good effort and played the majority of the minutes but was credited with the loss. Fellow freshman Kaya Donovan also spent time in the goal for the Cardinals.
