๐Ÿ“ฐ Alert: Sex Offender Targeting Female Realtors in Northeast Ohio

A known convicted sex offender with a history of targeting female real estate agents in Northeast Ohio was believed to be active again, prompting safety concerns among local agents. In response, the Akron Cleveland Association of Realtors issued an alert identifying this specific offender. However, recent developments have cleared this individual as a person of interest in the current case. Despite this, real estate agents remain on high alert as another person has been spotted attending open houses, raising significant concerns within the real estate community. Realtors are urged to take precautions, such as thoroughly researching clients and avoiding hosting open houses alone.

๐ŸŒ Northeast Ohio Experiences Hazy Skies Due to Canadian Wildfires

Canadian wildfires are currently affecting air quality in Northeast Ohio. The region experienced significant haze on May 16, raising concerns similar to those seen in 2023 when wildfires last impacted the area.

The air quality deteriorated on Wednesday and was expected to remain poor through Friday this past week. Since then, weather conditions have started to improve, bringing cleaner air to the region.

Residents are advised to take precautions when we experience this haze, especially those with respiratory issues.

๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ Summer Fun: Top 40 Water Destinations in the Midwest

Beaver Island. PHOTO: KEVIN J. MIYAZAKI/REDUX

Summer is the perfect time to explore the Midwest's beautiful lakes, rivers, and creeks. Whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, these destinations offer something for everyone. Here's a bucket-list guide to the most Midwest ways to float, swim, and chill out by the water.

Michigan and Ohio: Ferry to an Island

  • Beaver Island, Michigan: Take a two-hour ferry from Charlevoix to this largely undeveloped island, home to foxes, cranes, and beavers. Enjoy sand beaches, a working lighthouse, and plenty of fresh whitefish.

  • Lake Erie, Ohio: Visit Kelleys Island and Put-In-Bay for beaches, state parks, resorts, and a laid-back lifestyle perfect for a golf-cart pace.

Lake Superior: Take The Plunge

  • Black Rocks, Marquette, Michigan: Despite its chilly temperatures, Lake Superior's blue-green waters are irresistible. Good jumping-off spots include Duluth, Minnesota; Bayfield, Wisconsin; and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Minnesota: Go to The Source

  • Itasca State Park: Discover the headwaters of the Mississippi River, where it starts as a slim channel in this serene park. Visit early to enjoy the tranquility and cross the infant river on stepping stones.

South Dakota: See an Urban Waterfall

  • Falls Park, Sioux Falls: Experience the beauty of 7,400 gallons of water cascading over pink Sioux quartzite boulders every second in the heart of South Dakota's largest city.

Minnesota: (Re)Visit Highway 61

  • North Shore Scenic Drive: Travel from Duluth to Canada along this famous route, known for its historic Split Rock Lighthouse, rocky beaches, family-run smokehouses, and numerous waterfalls.

Above Iโ€™ve only had the room to provide with with a high level overview of the first five destinations. Visit the website midwestliving.com for all the destinations, photos and many details.
