📰 Lake County Beaches Open for Memorial Day with Enhanced Water Quality Monitoring

The Lake County General Health District (LCGHD) will begin reporting water quality at Headlands State Park Beach and Lake Metroparks Fairport Harbor Beach starting Memorial Day. Using the USEPA-developed Virtual Beach software, daily predictions of E. coli levels will guide advisories. Leading up to Memorial Day, National Healthy and Safe Swimming Week promotes the health benefits of swimming and encourages safe practices to prevent drowning and pool chemical injuries. 📰 Willoughby Police Honor Fallen Officer's Daughter at Graduation

Members of the Willoughby Police Department continue to support the family of fallen officer Jason Gresko, more than a decade after his death in the line of duty. Recently, several officers attended the middle school graduation of Gresko's daughter, Olivia.

The department shared photos from the graduation on social media, capturing moments of officers posing with Olivia, who held a framed photograph of her late father. The post included a heartfelt message: "Congratulations Olivia! The best way to predict the future is to create it. Good luck in high school! You’ll always have a friend at WPD."

Officer Jason Gresko tragically lost his life in a drunk driving accident in September 2012. He left behind his wife, Sandra, and his daughter, Olivia, who was just two years old at the time. In 2013, Chief David Easthon of the Cleveland Clinic Police, where Gresko worked full-time, praised his bravery, stating that in a split-second decision, Gresko chose to risk his own life to save others.
