🍺 Discover Tricky Tortoise Brewing: Opening Weekend in Willoughby
Tricky Tortoise Brewing Co., located at 4057 Erie St. in Willoughby, has opened its doors this weekend after eight months of extensive renovations. Owner Bobby Ehasz, also a partner at Pompatus Brewing in Bainbridge, transformed the former Willoughby Brewing property from a dark, vacant space into a bright, welcoming venue. The renovation involved removing walls, replacing flooring, updating lighting, and upgrading fixtures and furniture.
The brewery's beer selection, curated by Caleb Brown, formerly of Platform/AB and Thirsty Dog, will feature a variety of options for the opening weekend, including a couple of IPAs, a cream ale, a helles brewed in collaboration with Akronym Brewing, and a house-brewed lime seltzer. Upcoming offerings include a brown ale, black lager, and West Coast IPA. Brown emphasizes a focus on balance and nuance in their brews, reflecting a broader trend in the craft beer market.
The food menu is designed to complement the beers, featuring loaded nachos, jumbo wings, sausage-stuffed peppers, a Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, salads, pizzas, fried chicken sandwiches, meatball subs, sausage and pepper sandwiches, and a burger. Live entertainment will also be part of the brewery's offerings, starting this weekend.
