๐ค๐ธFinger Eleven Set to Rock Mentor Rocks Concert Series Tonight

The 2024 Mentor Rocks summer concert series continues tonight, June 18, 2024, at 7 PM with a performance by the Juno Award-winning band Finger Eleven (F11). Known for their genre-defying sound that ranges from cathartic metal and alt-rock balladry to danceable funk and power pop, Finger Eleven has cemented their legacy with hits like "Paralyzer" and "One Thing."
Northeast Ohioโs most popular free summer concert series offers a festival-like atmosphere every Tuesday night from 7 โ 9 PM, featuring great music, delicious food, and plenty of family fun.
The Mentor Civic Amphitheater, located at 8600 Munson Road, provides lawn seating, so attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Outside food and refreshments are allowed, but with 15 local food trucks on-site each week, there will be plenty of tasty options to enjoy. For those 21 and over, a selection of beers, wines, and seltzers will be available for purchase. Please note that outside alcohol, glass containers, and pets are not permitted on the Amphitheater grounds.
Admission and parking are free, thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsors. For more information, visit www.mentorrocks.info.

๐ช Five Essential DIY Home Repairs Every Homeowner Should Master - For Everything Else, โCall the Prosโ

Owning a home is a dream come true for many, but it also comes with responsibilities, including occasional repairs. Here are five essential home repairs every homeowner should know how to do:
1. Prepping Your Paint Jobs Like a Pro
A fresh coat of paint can dramatically improve your home's appearance, but good results depend on proper preparation. Start by removing any fixtures or hardware that might get in the way. Clean the walls to remove dust, grease, and grime, and make minor repairs with spackle. For large sanded areas, apply primer or use paint with built-in primer. Mask moldings and baseboards with painter's tape, lay down drop cloths, and then begin painting.
2. Dealing with Doors
Doors can develop squeaks and sticking issues. Check for loose screws and tighten them if necessary. If a door sticks during humid weather, you might need to plane it. A carpenterโs plane can shave off a thin layer of wood to help the door fit better. For squeaky hinges, apply penetrating oil sparingly and work it into the hinges by opening and closing the door. If that doesn't work, clean the hinge pins with steel wool and a wire brush.
3. Applying Caulk
Caulk seals gaps around tubs, showers, sinks, and toilets, protecting against water damage and mold. Remove old caulk completely before applying new caulk. Use a putty knife to scrape away residue, clean the area with paint thinner, and let it dry. When applying new caulk, cut the tip of the caulk tube at an angle and practice on a piece of plywood first to ensure a smooth bead.
4. Repairing a Faucet Washer
Leaky faucets waste water and can be easily fixed by replacing the washer. First, shut off the water supply. Then, remove the faucet handle and packing nut. Take out the valve stem and old washer. Use the old washer as a template to find a replacement, or consult the faucet manufacturer for the correct part. Install the new washer and reassemble the faucet.
5. Unplugging a Clogged Toilet
Clogged toilets are stressful but manageable. First, check for foreign objects and remove them if possible. Use a bucket of water to help dislodge blockages. A flanged plunger or a plumbing snake can be used to clear the clog. If these tools don't work, consider using a compressed air tool. As a last resort, you may need to uninstall the toilet to remove the blockage directly.
Learning these basic home repairs can save you time and money while keeping your home in good shape.

๐ AFC North Stars in HBO's 'Hard Knocks' In-Season Edition
AFC North Takes the Spotlight on HBO's 'Hard Knocks'
The AFC North, famed for its fierce rivalries and star quarterbacks, will be the focus of HBO's in-season edition of "Hard Knocks" this year. This marks the first time the Emmy Award-winning series has covered an entire division.
Last season, all four AFC North teamsโthe Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelersโfinished with winning records. With quarterbacks Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Deshaun Watson, and Russell Wilson, who was traded from the Denver Broncos to Pittsburgh, the division promises compelling storylines and intense games.
"Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North" will debut on December 3 and continue through the rest of the regular season and playoffs.
The AFC North made history last season by becoming the first division since the 1935 Western Division to have all its teams finish with winning records. The Ravens, Steelers, Browns, and Bengals collectively achieved a 43-25 record, the highest win percentage (.632) of any division in 2023.
Bengals coach Zac Taylor expressed pride in the division's selection for "Hard Knocks," emphasizing the excitement and talent within the teams.
Lamar Jackson, coming off his second MVP win, aims for his first Super Bowl appearance. Joe Burrow is recovering from wrist surgery after playing just 10 games last season. Deshaun Watson faces a critical third season in Cleveland, and Russell Wilson seeks a career revival in Pittsburgh.
The Ravens were the first team featured on "Hard Knocks" in 2001, followed by the Bengals in 2009 and 2013, and the Browns in 2018. This will be the Steelers' debut on the show, which provides fans with an inside look at NFL teams' locker rooms, huddles, and inner workings.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh stated he doesn't watch "Hard Knocks" and emphasized that his team would remain authentic if featured, with the assurance of final editing power.
The series has expanded to cover the NFL's offseason, training camp, regular season, and postseason. The New York Giants' offseason and the Chicago Bears' training camp, featuring rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the No. 1 pick in this year's draft, will also be highlighted.
