🌩️ Stormy Saturday Ahead for Northeast Ohio: Flood Watch in Effect
Prepare for a potentially bumpy Saturday as rain and thunderstorms move into Northeast Ohio. The interactive radar shows that the rain could be heavy at times, with the possibility of minor flooding and ponding on roads, particularly in the morning. A flood watch is in effect through Saturday evening.
As the heat and humidity rise ahead of an approaching cold front, periods of rain and storms will develop. The first round of rain is expected early in the day, followed by a second round in the afternoon and evening. If there is sufficient clearing between these rounds, some storms could become strong to severe.
The primary threat from these storms is heavy rain. If there is enough sunshine to create instability, secondary threats include damaging wind gusts, large hail, and an isolated tornado. The rain and storms are expected to move out by early evening, around 7 p.m., potentially allowing for a drier Saturday evening for any plans you may have. Temperatures will be warm and muggy, reaching the mid-80s, though they may be cooler if rain and clouds persist.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed Northeast Ohio in a slight risk category for severe weather. The main threats from the strongest storms are damaging winds and heavy rainfall that could lead to flooding. The tornado risk is low, but not negligible.
Sunday promises to be the nicer half of the weekend, with a more spring-like feel, making it ideal for outdoor activities. Looking ahead, temperatures will climb back into the mid and upper 80s as we approach Independence Day, with current forecasts suggesting dry weather for fireworks, picnics, and parades.

⚾ Triston McKenzie's Struggles Continue as Guardians Fall to Royals
Triston McKenzie’s recent struggles continued as he lasted just 2 1/3 innings, allowing five runs and two homers in the Guardians’ 10-3 loss to the Royals. Despite Jose Ramirez's early home run, McKenzie’s issues with the long ball and control quickly shifted the game in favor of Kansas City. Royals starter Alec Marsh controlled the game, leading Kansas City to a convincing win.
