On Friday, July 12, at 10 a.m., the Garfield home will host a special naturalization ceremony. This event will see dozens of individuals from various countries around the world take the oath to become America’s newest citizens. The serene and historic setting of the Garfield home provides a fitting backdrop for this significant occasion.
The event is organized in partnership with the League of Women Voters, Citizenship & Immigration Services (U.S. Department of Homeland Security), and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this free, uniquely American event.
A second naturalization ceremony will take place on Friday, September 13, at 10 a.m., in honor of Constitution Day on September 17. Similar to the July event, this ceremony will also welcome new citizens from across the globe. The Garfield home will once again serve as the venue, offering a picturesque location for the ceremony. The event is planned with the same partners and is open to the public at no cost.

🍽️ Cool Off with Delicious Frozen S'mores This Summer

Frozen S’mores - Courtesy: thekitchn.com
Most of think of s’mores as a gooey treat around the campfire, possibly during a camping trip. Well Patty Catalano from thekitchn.com has upended this favorite and wow is it wonderful.
This classic dessert has everything I adore: honey graham crackers, rich chocolate, and, of course, toasted marshmallow. Nowadays, instead of setting up a fire and searching for sticks to toast marshmallows, I've found a cooler (literally!) way to enjoy s’mores.
Introducing frozen s’mores! These dessert bars capture all the flavors of the traditional campfire treat but are perfect for summer since they're served straight from the freezer. To create this delightful recipe, layer gooey marshmallow crème and chocolate pudding between layers of graham crackers. Once the bars are chilled and firm, serve them ice cream sandwich-style for a melty, gooey summertime treat that everyone will love.

⚾ Guardians' Defensive Struggles Lead to 4-2 Loss Against Giants
The Cleveland Guardians faced a tough game on Friday, losing 4-2 to the San Francisco Giants at Progressive Field. The Giants capitalized on early defensive errors by the Guardians, improving their record to 6-1 at the venue, while Cleveland's all-time regular season record against San Francisco dropped to 6-16, the lowest winning percentage against any opponent.
Cleveland struggled with runners in scoring position, going hitless in 11 at-bats and stranding 11 runners. Josh Naylor hit a leadoff home run in the fourth inning, and Andrés Giménez added an RBI sacrifice fly in the sixth. Despite this, the Giants, who used Erik Miller and five relievers, including closer Camilo Doval for his 17th save, held off the Guardians' offense.
Manager Stephen Vogt commented on the missed opportunities, noting that the team often had runners on base but failed to deliver the crucial hit. Naylor and David Fry each had two hits, while Giménez collected three hits, including an infield single in the eighth. However, double plays and grounded outs hindered potential rallies.
San Francisco's early runs were aided by Cleveland's defensive lapses. Jorge Soler reached on an infield single due to a throwing error by José Ramírez, and Patrick Bailey's sacrifice fly and Michael Conforto's double contributed to a three-run first inning. Another fielding error in the fourth allowed Conforto to score, extending the Giants' lead.
Tanner Bibee, the Guardians' pitcher, struggled in the first inning but settled in afterward, finishing with six strikeouts over six innings. The bullpen performed well, with Tim Herrin, Cade Smith, Sam Hentges, and Nick Sandlin combining for 4 1/3 scoreless innings, lowering the team's bullpen ERA to a league-best 2.57.
Rookie Ángel Martínez impressed with a double and three walks in his fourth major league game, showcasing poise and a solid approach at the plate.
