The Cleveland Burger Week app is your guide to this culinary adventure. The app lists participating restaurants, their specials, photos, operating hours, and a handy map. It also allows users to check in at various locations, earn points for prizes, and strive for the title of Cleveland Burger Week royalty. Checking in at five locations makes you eligible for a special drawing featuring $250 in gift cards and more.

🩴 Join the Sand Sculpture Spectacle at Headlands Beach, July 11-13

Experience the excitement of witnessing a sand sculpture come to life as professional sand sculptor Carl Jara transforms ordinary sand into a breathtaking masterpiece. The event kicks off on Thursday, July 11, with the sand being packed and prepared for sculpting. The sculpting process will continue until 2 PM on Saturday, offering ample opportunity to observe the artistic transformation.

On Saturday, attendees can enjoy a delightful lunch from Jilly Jeans Comfort Cuisine food truck and try their hand at creating their own sand sculptures. Additionally, the Friends of Headlands Beach State Park will host a welcome tent from 12 PM to 2 PM, providing information and engaging activities.

📰 Coast Guard Suspends Search for Missing Man After Lake Erie Boat Capsize

The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a man who went missing following a distress call from a fishing boat on Lake Erie on Saturday morning. The mayday call came shortly after 10:30 a.m. from a location off the coast near the Perry Nuclear Power Plant in Lake County.

Responding to the call, Coast Guard and local fire department crews rescued three individuals from the water. Unfortunately, one person was unresponsive and later pronounced dead, while the other two, a man and a woman, were transported to separate hospitals for treatment. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

As of Sunday, one individual remains unaccounted for. Divers located the capsized 23-foot boat, but after a thorough search covering approximately 64 square miles of water, the search was suspended after 10 hours.

Captain Mark Kuperman, commander of Coast Guard Sector Eastern Great Lakes, acknowledged the difficulty of suspending the search. He expressed gratitude for the efforts of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the local first responders and extended heartfelt condolences to the families and friends affected by the tragic incident.

The search operation involved multiple agencies, including: Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, Coast Guard Station Cleveland Harbor, Coast Guard Station Fairport, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Lake County Fire Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Perry Fire Department, Lake County Police Department, Lake County Dive Team, Perry Police Department, Mentor Fire Department, and Painesville Fire Department.

Earlier that day, the Coast Guard rescued five individuals from another boat near Ashtabula that had been swamped by a wave.

📰 Tragic Lamborghini Accident in Ohio Leaves Driver Dead, Passenger Injured

In Munson Township, Ohio, a tragic accident occurred on Saturday when a high-end sports car crashed into a building, resulting in the driver's death and igniting both the vehicle and the structure. The incident took place along U.S. Route 322 near the intersection of Bass Lake Road, as reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Christopher Rossi, 43, from Kirtland Hills, was driving a 2023 Lamborghini Huracán westbound on U.S. Route 322 at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road, struck a mulch bed with large landscaping rocks, and went airborne, crashing into a building. Rossi was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger managed to escape and was initially taken to a nearby hospital. Due to the severity of their injuries, the passenger was later airlifted to a hospital in Cleveland.

Authorities have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash or if seat belts were in use by the driver or passenger. The incident remains under investigation.
