Gimme Sugar, Cleveland's premier Rolling Stones tribute band, had its beginnings on March 3, 2019, when the founding members performed at the Stadium Grill in Mentor, Ohio, to raise funds for a friend who had suffered a major medical setback. Now entering its fourth season, Tunes at the Lagoons returns to the Mentor Lagoons Marina for Friday night performances by the water this summer. The 2024 schedule features two performances per month, showcasing popular local bands.

On July 12, 2024, Gimme Sugar will take the stage, delivering their celebrated Rolling Stones tribute from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Matt Vierling’s Heroics Lead Tigers to 5-4 Win Over Guardians

The Detroit Tigers secured a 5-4 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday night, highlighted by Matt Vierling's home run and three RBIs.

Reese Olson (4-8) continued his strong performance, improving to 3-0 with a 2.40 ERA over his past five starts. He allowed three runs on six hits across six innings, contributing to Detroit's fifth win in six games.

Heading into the ninth inning with a 5-3 lead, the Tigers faced a challenge as Alex Faedo issued two walks and a wild pitch, putting the tying run in scoring position. Andres Gimenez then closed the gap to 5-4 with a sacrifice fly, advancing Gabriel Arias to third. Jason Foley replaced Faedo and induced a grounder to first from Tyler Freeman. Gio Urshela threw out Arias at home in a rundown, preventing the tying run.

“We instructed Gabe to go on contact and ensure Freeman got into scoring position,” Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said. “He executed perfectly.”

Arias managed to force five throws before being tagged out.

“We probably made more throws than necessary,” Vierling commented. “It got dicey, but we secured the out.”

Foley intentionally walked Brayan Rocchio, and a wild pitch advanced the runners to second and third. However, Foley retired Austin Hedges on a grounder to earn his 15th save.

“We got the matchup we wanted but didn't expect the wild pitch,” Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said. “A win is a win.”

Tanner Bibee (7-4) struggled, allowing four runs on five hits over seven innings. He is now 0-3 with a 6.98 ERA in four starts against the Tigers.

The Tigers initially took a 2-0 lead with Colt Keith's RBI triple and Vierling's sacrifice fly in the first inning. Angel Martinez tied the game with a two-run double in the third. Vierling responded with a two-run homer to make it 4-2.

Daniel Schneemann hit a solo home run in the fourth, making it 4-3. Andy Ibanez extended Detroit's lead with a pinch-hit homer in the eighth.

Jose Ramirez, who had reached base seven consecutive times, went 1 for 4 after singling in the first inning.
