The Mitch Trubisky Youth Football Camp is buzzing with excitement, and it's hard to say who's having the most fun—the campers, player volunteers, coaches, or NFL stars Mitch Trubisky and Nicky Samac. Day two of the camp was filled with smiles, laughter, and learning, as captured in these wonderful photos.
Each year, this event provides a fantastic opportunity for older students to develop their leadership skills while mentoring younger participants, who are thrilled to be part of the camp. The camp not only promotes physical activity and teamwork but also fosters a sense of community and personal growth among all involved.
A special thanks goes out to Mitch Trubisky, who continues to dedicate his time every summer to give back to our community. His commitment and enthusiasm make this event a highlight of the year for everyone involved.

📰 Sidewinders Snack Shack Closes Amid Rising Chicken Wing Prices
Sidewinders Snack Shack, which opened in January 2023, closed yesterday on July 11th due to soaring chicken wing prices. ⚾ Tigers Dominate Guardians to Win Four-Game Series
Riley Greene's three-hit, three-RBI performance and Jack Flaherty's strong six-inning outing propelled the Detroit Tigers to a 10-1 victory over the AL Central-leading Cleveland Guardians on Thursday, clinching the four-game series win.
Cleveland's Bo Naylor homered in the third inning, but Detroit's Carson Kelly quickly countered with his seventh homer of the season, restoring the Tigers' three-run lead. The game became a rout after Greene's two-run double in the fourth inning and Gio Urshela's three-run double in the sixth, pushing the lead to 10-1.
The Tigers, who are 6-1 in their last seven games, are enjoying their best stretch since the beginning of the season but still sit four games below .500 and 13 games behind the Guardians in the division standings.
“The production has picked up and the pitching has stabilized,” Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said. “Our guys like winning, and winning series, and we hadn't done that in a while.”
Detroit has a chance to close the gap further, with six more games against Cleveland this month.
Flaherty (6-5) returned from a back injury to allow only two hits, strike out four, and walk two over six innings, lowering his ERA to 3.13.
Cleveland's recent acquisition to bolster their rotation, Spencer Howard (1-2), struggled, giving up four runs on seven hits over three innings. He had a 5.63 ERA with the Giants before joining the Guardians.
Cleveland right-hander Pedro Avila also faced difficulties, allowing five runs (four earned) on three hits in 2 1/3 innings. The Tigers scored in each of the first four innings and added four more in the sixth.
Cleveland outfielder Will Brennan went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his first game back from a rib injury. Infielder Gabriel Arias was optioned to Triple-A Columbus. The Guardians will start RHP Carlos Carrasco (3-6, 5.22 ERA) in the series opener on Friday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.
