💦 $500,000 Water Tower Overhaul to Begin on Station Street This Week

City of Mentor
Aqua has announced plans for a $500,000 renovation of its 1-million gallon water tower located at 8666 Station Street. The extensive project, set to begin this week, will involve draining the tower, sandblasting both the interior and exterior, making minor repairs, and repainting the entire structure with a specialized epoxy paint.
The work will be conducted Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with crews taking care to limit noisy activities in the early morning hours to minimize disruptions for nearby residents. Initially, workers will carry out exterior maintenance before enclosing the tower with a containment tent to reduce dust emissions during the sandblasting process.
Despite the construction, Aqua assures that water pressure will be maintained by using high-service pumps, ensuring that customers experience no significant changes in water quality. Some minor variations in pressure might occur, but the quality will continue to meet all federal and state standards.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of October, with American Suncraft Painting Company, based in Medway, Ohio, overseeing the specialized work.

👴 Harmonizing Health: Acupuncture and Aromatherapy for Whole-Body Wellness
In the pursuit of holistic health, many are turning to ancient practices like acupuncture and aromatherapy, which have been revitalized in our modern wellness landscape. These methods offer more than just relaxation—they provide a deep-seated sense of healing and well-being that many find essential in today’s fast-paced world.
Acupuncture: Pinpointing Health Benefits
Acupuncture, a cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine, involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body. This practice is grounded in the belief that it helps balance the body’s vital energy, or qi (chi), thereby promoting healing and health. Western science explains acupuncture’s benefits slightly differently, suggesting the needles stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissue to boost your body’s natural painkillers and increase blood flow.
The benefits of acupuncture are wide-ranging. It is commonly used to relieve pain from headaches and migraines, improve chronic pain conditions such as lower back pain and arthritis, and enhance sleep quality. Moreover, it’s increasingly used to combat stress, making it a vital tool in managing lifestyle-related health issues.
Aromatherapy: Scents for Wellness
Aromatherapy complements acupuncture by using essential oils extracted from flowers, herbs, and trees to improve physical and emotional health. When inhaled or applied topically, these oils can directly affect many physiological processes. Lavender, for example, is celebrated for its calming effects, often used to reduce anxiety and improve sleep. Meanwhile, peppermint can invigorate the mind and may help relieve headache and digestive issues.
Integrating aromatherapy into daily routines can be as simple as adding a few drops of essential oil to a bath, using a diffuser, or applying a diluted solution to the skin. The key is consistency and using oils that align with your specific health needs.
Synergistic Wellness
Combining acupuncture with aromatherapy can amplify the therapeutic effects of both. For instance, receiving acupuncture in a room filled with the soothing scent of lavender may enhance the relaxation effects, potentially making the treatment more effective.
For those seeking a holistic approach to wellness, exploring the benefits of acupuncture and aromatherapy could be a transformative journey. It’s advisable to consult with licensed practitioners who can tailor treatments to your individual needs, ensuring a safe and beneficial holistic health experience.
In embracing these ancient practices, individuals are not only nurturing their body but also their mind and spirit, paving the way for a more balanced and healthful life.

⚾ Guardians Shut Out White Sox 5-0 Behind Thomas's Big Night
The Cleveland Guardians dominated the Chicago White Sox with a 5-0 shutout victory last night. Starting pitcher Ben Lively had an unfortunate exit in the second inning after being struck by a line drive. Although he was in visibly pain, Lively managed to eventually walk off the field under his own power but did not return to the game.
Cleveland’s bullpen took control from there, keeping the White Sox scoreless, with Pedro Avila (6-1) earning the win. The Guardians' offense didn’t light up the scoreboard but came through in some key moments. Lane Thomas delivered the game’s biggest highlight, launching a three-run home run in the sixth inning. Thomas also contributed a double, as did teammates Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor. Andres Gimenez and Kyle Manzardo chipped in with RBIs to secure the shutout win for Cleveland.
