📰 8-Year-Old Takes Car on 10-Mile Journey to Target, Found Safe and Shopping
Bedford police reported an unusual incident involving an 8-year-old girl who took a car and drove it to a Target store. The young driver was found safe and shopping after covering a distance of more than 10 miles on busy roads.
The incident unfolded on Sunday morning when the police received a call about a missing child. During their investigation, they were alerted to a report of a small child driving east on Rockside Road. Officers tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of a Target store in Bainbridge. Upon entering the store, they located the child inside, unharmed.
While the exact route the child took remains unclear, Google Maps indicates that the journey from where she was reported missing to the Target store would typically take around 20-25 minutes. During her adventure, the child told officers that she had “struck a mailbox” along the way.
The girl's relatives were promptly contacted and arrived at the store to pick her up and retrieve the vehicle. Due to her age, police stated that the child is too young to face any criminal charges. Authorities expressed relief that no one was injured during the incident.

☎️ DIY vs. Professional Services: When to Hire an Expert
Deciding whether to tackle a project yourself or hire a professional can be a tough call. From home repairs to creative endeavors, both options have their benefits. Knowing when to go the DIY route and when to call in an expert can save you time, money, and potential frustration.
Consider Your Skill Level:
One of the first things to assess is your skill level. For simple tasks like painting a room or assembling furniture, a DIY approach is often manageable and cost-effective. There are countless tutorials and guides available online that can help you through these types of projects. However, if the project involves specialized skills, such as electrical work, plumbing, or structural changes, it’s best to leave it to a professional. Attempting complex tasks without the proper knowledge can lead to costly mistakes and even safety hazards.
Evaluate the Time Commitment:
DIY projects can be rewarding, but they often require a significant time investment. Before diving in, consider whether you have the time to dedicate to the task from start to finish. Many DIY projects that start with enthusiasm can end up half-done when life gets busy. Hiring a professional can save you time, allowing you to focus on other responsibilities or simply enjoy your free time.
Assess the Cost:
Cost is a major factor in the DIY vs. professional decision. DIY projects can be more affordable since you're only paying for materials and not labor. However, this is only true if the project goes smoothly. Mistakes can lead to additional expenses in the form of repairs or replacements. Professionals, while more expensive upfront, bring expertise and tools that can prevent errors and reduce long-term costs.
Safety First:
Safety should always be a top priority. Projects that involve working at heights, dealing with hazardous materials, or using heavy machinery are generally not DIY-friendly. Professionals are trained to handle these situations safely, reducing the risk of injury.
The Bottom Line:
Choose DIY for projects that match your skill set, fit within your schedule, and don't compromise safety. For complex, time-consuming, or potentially dangerous tasks, hiring a professional is the smarter choice. By weighing these factors, you can make an informed decision that ensures the job gets done correctly and efficiently.
⚾ Manzardo’s Late Homer Propels Guardians to Comeback Win Over Twins
Rookie Kyle Manzardo hit a crucial two-run homer in the eighth inning, leading the Cleveland Guardians to a 4-3 comeback victory over the Minnesota Twins on Monday night. With Josh Naylor on second, Manzardo connected on the first pitch from Griffin Jax, marking his third home run and igniting the Guardians' dugout.
This win was Cleveland's 40th come-from-behind victory, extending their lead in the AL Central to 7 1/2 games over the Twins and reducing their playoff-clinching magic number to two. Emmanuel Clase secured his 33rd consecutive save, tying the club's single-season record of 46 saves.
Andrew Walters earned his first career win, stepping in after starter Matthew Boyd's early exit. The Twins initially led 3-0, but the Guardians chipped away with a run in the fifth and another in the seventh before Manzardo's homer turned the game around. Minnesota's Pablo López held the Guardians scoreless until the fifth inning, and Byron Buxton drove in two runs for the Twins.
In other news, Guardians' outfielder Steven Kwan missed his fourth game due to lower back soreness, while the Twins claimed pitcher Cole Irvin off waivers.
