Mentor Police released a statement that State Route 2 westbound was reopened at approximately 10:30 p.m. last night following a devastating crash earlier in the day. The accident, which occurred yesterday afternoon, caused significant traffic delays, with cars backed up for miles and drivers stranded on the highway for hours. Initial reports indicate that at least one person lost their life in the incident. Authorities have not yet released further details about the cause of the crash or the identity of the victim.

ā¾ Guardians Win in Thrilling ALCS Game 3
The Cleveland Guardians staged a thrilling comeback in Game 3 of the ALCS, defeating the New York Yankees 7-5 in extra innings to keep their series hopes alive, though they still trail 2-1. Cleveland seemed in control after starter Matthew Boydās strong 5 innings and effective work from the bullpen, but a late-game disaster unfolded when closer Emmanuel Clase gave up back-to-back home runs to Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton in the eighth inning, erasing Cleveland's lead.

š GCC Showdown: Mentor Hosts Strongsville in Key Matchup

Strongsville v. Mentor
The Strongsville Mustangs and Mentor Cardinals face off tonight in a crucial Greater Cleveland Conference matchup at Jerome T. Osborne Stadium. The stakes are high as both teams vie for the GCC title. Mentor holds the upper hand historically, leading the series 17-3 and having won the last 16 meetings. Strongsvilleās last victories against Mentor came in 2008 when they defeated the Cardinals twice in one season.
Mentorās potent offense is led by quarterback Scotty Fox, a West Virginia commit, who has thrown for 1,694 yards and 23 touchdowns. Running back Jackson Farley adds balance with 1,109 yards and 14 scores on the ground. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Lake Catholic enters the game undefeated at 8-0, while Canton Central Catholic holds an even 4-4 record. Both teams are coming off strong victories, with Lake Catholic dominating Elyria Catholic 49-6 and Canton Central Catholic defeating Richmond Heights 41-6. This matchup has playoff implications, with Lake Catholic ranked first in Division IV, Region 13, and Canton Central Catholic holding 14th place in Division V, Region 17. Fans can expect an intense battle on the field.
Lake Catholic, the top-ranked team in the Division IV Associated Press poll and the Region 13 computer ratings, will face a surging Canton Central Catholic team that has won four of its last five games. The Crusadersā only recent loss was a tight 7-6 game against Division II Louisville.
Lake Catholic has been dominant on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Frankie Trinetti has thrown for 1,780 yards and 19 touchdowns this season. Defensively, Lake has recorded 11 interceptions, with Peterlin leading with four, and 18 sacks, paced by Jayson Cummingsā five.
