🏌️ Brave the Cold: Chili Open Golf Tournament Tees Off Today!

City of Mentor

Goff in the Snow for Charity… and for Fun!

When: 9:00 am12:00 pm
Where: Black Brook Golf Course & Practice Center, 8900 Lakeshore Blvd, Mentor

Golfers looking for a unique challenge can test their skills at the Chili Open, a winter golf event unlike any other. Instead of green fairways, participants will take on a nine-hole course blanketed in snow, where icy greens and frozen tundra add an extra layer of difficulty.

Using bright orange golf balls to stand out against the white landscape, players will navigate holes ranging from 65 to 100 yards. After braving the cold, golfers can warm up with a bowl of chili, hot dogs, and hot chocolate.

Last year’s event drew more than 200 participants.. The cost to enter is $20, which includes golf fees and refreshments. The top three teams will win gift certificates for 18-hole rounds.

Hosted by the City of Mentor, the tournament supports a great cause, with all proceeds benefiting the United Way of Lake County. Those interested in playing can find more information and register online.
