āļø Winter Weather Advisory: Blowing Snow, Sub-Zero Wind Chills Expected in NE Ohio

National Weather Service Cleveland
Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for portions of northwest Ohio and the snowbelt region from early Sunday through Monday morning. Rain is expected to transition back to snow on Sunday, bringing periods of heavy snowfall and creating potentially hazardous conditions.
Snowfall totals of 4 to 6 inches are likely in many areas (Mentor 3-4ā), with gusty winds exceeding 30 mph, which could lead to blowing and drifting snow. The combination of snow and strong winds may significantly reduce visibility and create dangerous travel conditions, especially on Sunday evening and into the Monday morning commute.
In addition to the snow, sub-zero wind chills are expected by Sunday night, posing a risk to vulnerable populations and increasing the chance of frostbite for those exposed to the elements for prolonged periods.
Motorists and residents are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and exercise caution while traveling. Difficult travel conditions may persist into early Monday across the snowbelt region.

The James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor, Ohio, will host its annual Presidentsā Day event on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this free event, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the Garfield home, explore the visitor center museum, and stroll the historic grounds.
As one of the siteās most popular events of the year, Presidentsā Day offers a unique way to learn about the nationās leaders, especially the life and legacy of President James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States.
Located on Mentor Avenue, the Garfield home holds historical significance as the site of the nationās first āfront porchā presidential campaign during Garfieldās 1880 run for office. Tragically, his presidency was cut short when he was shot on July 2, 1881, and died from his injuries 80 days later. His widow, Lucretia Garfield, later added a Memorial Library to the homeāa feature widely regarded as the origin of the modern presidential library system.
The upcoming event is made possible through support from The James A. Garfield Alliance and The Garfield Trail of Ohio. The site, which underwent a full restoration in the late 1990s, is one of the best-preserved presidential homes in the nation.
The James A. Garfield National Historic Site is part of the National Park Service and is located at 8095 Mentor Avenue (U.S. 20). Regular offerings at the site include guided tours of the Garfield home, museum exhibits, and more.
