šµāāļø Bikes, History, and Bonding: Exploring the Towpath Trail One Segment at a Time

ohioanderiecanalway.com
This summer, the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail continues to serve as a popular outdoor escape for Northeast Ohioansāespecially amid ongoing public health concerns. With over 90 miles of connected trail and nearly 50 trailheads across four counties, the Towpath offers accessible adventure for walking, biking, and exploring nature close to home.
Heather Englander and her sons, Quinton and Miles, have taken on the challenge of traveling the entire trail. Inspired by a map at the Canal Exploration Center, Quinton suggested they ride every sectionāturning a family outing into a summer-long goal.
Though Heather has lived in Cleveland since 2006, she had never ventured far beyond the Botzum trailhead. Now, with the boys aged 5 and 8, the family is breaking the journey into manageable segments. Theyāre aided by the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and the many trail access points.
Their rides include frequent stops to read interpretive displays and learn about the canalās history and local wildlife. Beaver Marsh, a biologically diverse area of the trail, offers a chance to spot animals and deepen their appreciation for the natural environment.
The adventure has grown into a family affair. The boysā grandmother, from Tallmadge, has joined them on parts of the trailāand has even taken up cycling again.
Heather says the trail is more than just a place to rideāit teaches her children independence, safety, and respect for shared public spaces. She encourages others to explore the Towpath and discover its hidden treasures.

āļø Snively Incās 32-Year Journey: Technology, Community, and Revolutionizing Efficiency

Snively Inc: Pioneering RFID Technology and Custom Software Integration for Over Three Decades
In Mentor, Ohio, one company has quietly but powerfully reshaped the way industries track, manage, and optimize their operations. With 32 years of expertise, Snively Inc combines cutting-edge technology with a human touch, delivering bespoke software solutions that help businesses work smarter, not harder.
On a crisp morning in Mentor, Ohio, the hum of industry fills the air along Tyler Boulevard. Itās here, at 7980 Tyler Blvd, that Snively Inc has spent the past three decades revolutionizing technology solutions for manufacturing and distribution. While its headquarters might suggest a conventional business, the innovations coming from Snively Inc are anything but ordinary.
Founded by Rich Snively, a seasoned software engineer with deep expertise in project management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, Snively Inc has built its reputation on transforming complexity into simplicity. The company specializes in custom software design and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, seamlessly integrating these tools to save businesses time, money, and frustration.
Origins in Engineering Excellence
Snivelyās journey began 32 years ago, during a period when software development was still finding its footing in manufacturing environments. āIāve always been fascinated by how technology can improve processes,ā says Snively, reflecting on his early days in the industry.
With a background rooted in complex manufacturing and distribution systems, he identified a critical gap in the market: the need for highly customized, user-friendly solutions that cater to the unique demands of industrial clients. This realization spurred the launch of Snively Inc, a company that has since grown into a trusted partner for businesses nationwide.
Revolutionizing Asset Management
At the heart of Snively offerings is its flagship solution: the Snively Information System (SIS). Designed to streamline asset tracking through RFID technology, SIS eliminates the inefficiencies that plague traditional inventory management systems.
āOur SIS platform is a game-changer,ā Snively explains. āWith RFID, weāre able to provide clients with real-time visibility of their assets, whether theyāre using fixed readers, mobile readers, or a combination of both. Itās about empowering businesses to focus on growth rather than wasting time tracking items.ā
The SIS platform also boasts a high degree of flexibility. For clients with unique requirements, Snively Inc develops custom Android applications that integrate seamlessly with SIS, ensuring every need is met. Whether managing tools on a factory floor or inventory in a warehouse, the system drastically reduces downtime and operational costs.
Standing Out in a Competitive Field
What sets Snively Inc apart from its competitors is not just its technical expertise but its personalized approach to problem-solving. āWe donāt believe in one-size-fits-all solutions,ā Snively says. āEvery business is different, and our goal is to provide systems that work for them, not the other way around.ā
This philosophy has helped Snively Inc build long-term relationships with clients, many of whom rely on the companyās expertise to navigate the challenges of modernization.
Beyond its RFID solutions, Snively Inc also excels in ERP migrations, software development, and hardware sales, offering clients a comprehensive suite of services.
A Commitment to Community
Snively Incās impact extends beyond the businesses it serves. For years, the company has been an active participant in the local Mentor community, sponsoring youth baseball and hockey teams.
āI believe in giving back,ā says Snively. āSupporting local programs is our way of investing in the future and ensuring weāre contributing to something larger than ourselves.ā
These sponsorships are a testament to the companyās values: innovation paired with a strong sense of responsibility to its community.
Looking Ahead
As technology continues to evolve, so too does Snively Inc. While no major product launches are currently on the horizon, the company is committed to staying at the forefront of software and RFID advancements. Snively is also focused on deepening client relationships and finding new ways to help businesses adapt to an increasingly digital landscape.
āOur goal has always been to make our clientsā lives easier,ā Snively says. āAs long as weāre doing that, I know weāre on the right path.ā
With a legacy built on expertise, innovation, and integrity, Snively Inc is poised to remain a leader in the software and technology space for years to come.

After falling behind in the third inning, the Cougars mounted a comeback in the sixth, stringing together key hits to take control. Singles by Gilbert and #20 sparked the rally, driving in the tying and go-ahead runs to push Lake Catholic ahead for good, 4-2.
The Cougars opened the scoring in the second inning when Caden Boyes singled to bring in a run. Brush answered with a pair of runs in the third, capitalizing on a two-RBI single by Kyle Farrell to momentarily take the lead.
