📰 A judge has approved the $3 million sale of Quail Hollow Resort in Concord Township

A Lake County judge has approved the sale of the Quail Hollow Resort property in Concord Township, marking a significant step forward for the long-vacant site. The sale follows an online auction held in March and comes as part of a court-supervised receivership process.

According to court documents, the property will be sold to Terra Silva Holdings for a contract price of $3,026,210. The transaction was facilitated by Prodigy Properties, the court-appointed receiver overseeing the resort’s disposition.

Once a popular destination for events and getaways, Quail Hollow Resort has sat idle in recent years, prompting legal action to resolve its ownership and financial standing. With the sale now approved, attention turns to Terra Silva Holdings and the potential redevelopment of the site.

Further details about the buyer’s plans for the property have not yet been publicly released.

🐾 The Top Pet Health Trends for 2025: What to Watch for Your Furry Friends

As 2025 unfolds, the pet care landscape is embracing innovation, wellness, and sustainability like never before. Pet parents are more informed and engaged, seeking ways to provide better lives for their furry companions through smarter choices and holistic practices. Here's a look at the biggest pet health trends shaping the year ahead.

1. Tailored Nutrition Takes Center Stage

Personalized pet diets are on the rise, with pet parents opting for customized meal plans tailored to their animal's age, health needs, or sensitivities. Subscriptions and smart feeders are making it easier to serve meals that promote health and longevity. Sustainability is also top-of-mind, with eco-conscious owners demanding organic, responsibly sourced ingredients and transparency from brands.

2. Proactive Health with Technology

Preventative care now goes beyond the vet’s office. Wearable tech is helping owners track everything from their pet’s activity to sleep patterns and vital signs. Paired with regular vet visits, these insights can catch health issues early. Meanwhile, holistic therapies like acupuncture, herbal remedies, and massage are gaining ground in pet wellness routines.

3. Addressing Pet Mental Health

Emotional well-being is becoming a serious focus in pet care. Owners are more attuned to signs of anxiety and stress in their animals and are seeking solutions like calming toys, supplements, and therapy. Enriching home environments and consistent exercise are also essential to maintaining mental balance.

4. Eco-Friendly Living for Pets

Sustainability is influencing every aspect of pet ownership. Products like biodegradable waste bags, eco-conscious bedding, and chemical-free toys are in high demand. Environmentally responsible brands that prioritize both safety and the planet are earning long-term loyalty from consumers.

5. Virtual Vet Visits

Telehealth for pets is here to stay. Apps offering virtual consultations and follow-ups are making veterinary care more accessible, especially in remote areas. These platforms help reduce travel stress for pets and allow quicker responses to health concerns.

⚾ Donovan Mitchell Drops 30 as Cleveland Fends Off Miami Comeback

Cleveland Breaks NBA playoff record for 3-pointers in a quarter with 11.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are making an early statement in the 2025 NBA Playoffs, taking a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Miami Heat with a 121-112 victory in Game 2 on Wednesday night. Despite cruising to a 21-point win in Game 1, the Cavaliers had to dig deep in Game 2 after a furious second-half rally by Miami nearly flipped the script.

Cleveland appeared in full control late in the third quarter, building a 19-point lead behind hot perimeter shooting and balanced offensive contributions. However, the Heat stormed back, slicing the deficit to just two points with under five minutes remaining in the game.

The comeback was fueled by Miami’s Tyler Herro, who poured in 33 points on 14-of-24 shooting, and Davion Mitchell, who delivered 18 points and six assists off the bench on an efficient 7-of-9 from the field. But in the end, it was Donovan Mitchell who sealed the deal for the Cavs, scoring 17 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter. He finished the night with six rebounds, six assists, and a scorching 7-of-10 mark from beyond the arc.

Cleveland’s versatility was on full display in the first half, with seven players scoring at least five points and the team hitting 14-of-23 from three-point range by halftime. The Cavaliers went into the break up 68-51, rebounding from an early 9-point deficit.

The Cavs, who ended the regular season as the top seed in the East with a 64-18 record, now head to Miami with confidence but also a clear understanding that the Heat can fight back. Miami, meanwhile, enters Game 3 on Saturday knowing they’re capable of challenging the East’s top team—and hoping home court gives them a spark.

Game 3 tips off Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m.

The Lake Catholic Lady Cougars delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday, overpowering Padua Franciscan with a 17-7 victory in girls varsity lacrosse action. The win improved Lake Catholic’s record to 7-2 on the season, with the team firing on all cylinders on both ends of the field.

Offensively, Claire Gibbons led the way with an impressive 7-point outing, tallying 3 goals and dishing out 4 assists. She was well-supported by Lilly Doolan, who scored 4 times and added an assist for a 5-point effort. Gabby Speelman also netted 4 goals, rounding out a powerful trio of scorers.

The Cougars were strong in the draw circle as well, with Megan Joy, Maddie Cox, and Maddie Gibbons each securing 5 draw controls, helping Lake Catholic maintain possession and keep pressure on the Bruins.

In goal, Lake Catholic’s netminder stood tall, facing 12 shots and recording 5 saves to help preserve the double-digit win.

⚾ Yankees Snap Guardians' Streak Behind Rodón's Strong Start and Judge's Hot Bat

The New York Yankees avoided a series sweep with a decisive 5-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday. Carlos Rodón delivered a strong outing, going seven innings and allowing just four hits while keeping Cleveland’s offense quiet. Relievers Fernando Cruz and Luke Weaver each tossed a clean inning to close out the game, limiting the Guardians to only five hits total.

Aaron Judge and Paul Goldschmidt led the offensive charge early, each driving in a run in the first inning. Judge sparked the rally with a deep triple off the center field wall, scoring Ben Rice. Goldschmidt followed with a run-scoring double, and both he and Rice would add RBI hits in the second inning to extend the lead.

Despite leaving 13 runners on base and striking out 14 times, the Yankees maintained control throughout, capitalizing early on Guardians starter Luis Ortiz, who labored through three innings on 76 pitches.

Judge continued his dominant form, raising his league-best batting average to .415 and extending his on-base streak to 21 games. On Tuesday, he went 4-for-4, and on Wednesday he nearly homered—his 418-foot triple would have cleared the fence in almost every other major league park.

Cleveland’s five-game win streak came to an end, and the team dropped to 7-2 at home. Rookie Will Wilson notched his first career hit in the ninth inning for the Guardians, offering a small silver lining for the home crowd.
