ā›ˆļø Severe Storms Possible Today Ahead of Dramatic Temperature Drop

Windy and Warm Today, But Storms—and a Big Cooldown—Are Coming

Get ready for a warm and windy day as temperatures climb to around 80 degrees ahead of a strong cold front arriving this evening. South to southwest winds may gust over 45 mph, making for blustery conditions throughout the day.

Humidity will be noticeable, and by afternoon, fast-moving thunderstorms are expected to develop. Some storms could become severe, with damaging winds, hail, and even the risk of a tornado possible. Be weather-aware through the afternoon and evening hours.

As the front moves through, expect a few showers this evening before temperatures drop sharply overnight. Morning lows on Tuesday will fall to around 40 degrees, marking a significant change from today's warmth.

šŸ˜ļø How to Repair a Screen Door: Easy DIY Fixes for Common Problems

How To Fix a Screen Door: A Step-by-Step Guide

Screen doors are great for fresh air but can wear out over time. This guide covers how to fix common issues like torn screens, sticky tracks, and broken hardware using simple tools and techniques.

Tools and Materials Needed

Gather these before starting:

  • Flathead and Phillips screwdrivers

  • Utility knife

  • Measuring tape

  • Spline tool

  • Spring clamps

  • Pliers

Depending on the repair, you might also need new screen material (fiberglass or aluminum), spline, rollers, handles, latches, and silicone lubricant.

Preparing for Repair

Remove the screen door carefully from its frame — lift sliding doors out of the track or remove hinge pins from swinging doors. Set it on a sturdy, well-lit workspace.

How To Repair a Torn Screen

1. Measure and Cut: Measure the frame, adding 2 extra inches on each side. Cut the new screen to size.
2. Remove Old Screen: Pry out the old spline and discard the damaged screen.
3. Install New Screen: Center the new material on the frame, secure it with clamps, and press the new spline into the groove using a spline tool. Trim the excess screen with a utility knife.

How To Fix Misaligned Tracks

Sliding doors often jam due to dirty tracks or worn rollers.

  • Clean Tracks: Vacuum and wipe clean.

  • Adjust Rollers: Turn screws near the bottom of the door to raise or lower it for a smoother glide.

  • Lubricate: Use silicone-based spray to keep tracks and rollers moving freely.

Replacing Handles and Latches

Broken hardware can make your screen door hard to use.

  • Remove Old Hardware: Unscrew and set aside any reusable parts.

  • Install New Hardware: Align new handles and latches with existing holes. Test before tightening fully.

When To Call a Professional

Consider professional help if the frame is damaged, the door is a custom size, or if DIY repairs don’t resolve the issue.

Conclusion

Many screen door issues are easy DIY fixes with the right tools and patience. For more complex repairs, calling a pro can save time and hassle. Keep your door in top shape to enjoy fresh air without pests.

šŸ€ Cavaliers Crush Heat to Complete Most Lopsided Playoff Series Ever

Cavaliers Complete Historic Sweep of Heat with Record-Breaking Blowout

The Cleveland Cavaliers stormed into the second round of the NBA playoffs, dismantling the Miami Heat with a commanding 138-83 victory on Monday night in Miami. The 55-point margin marked Cleveland's largest playoff win ever and sealed a first-round sweep that now stands as the most lopsided series in NBA playoff history.

Donovan Mitchell led the way with 22 points, supported by De’Andre Hunter’s 19-point effort. Ty Jerome, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen also made significant contributions, with Allen adding 12 rebounds and six steals to his 14 points. Cleveland’s dominance was relentless, leading by as many as 60 points and outscoring Miami by a staggering 122 points over the four-game series — breaking the previous record set by Denver in 2009.

Cleveland overwhelmed Miami from the outset, opening with a 43-14 first-quarter advantage, matching the Heat’s worst quarter in playoff history. By halftime, the Cavaliers had built a 72-33 lead, the third-largest halftime margin ever recorded in the NBA postseason.

With this win, Cleveland now awaits the outcome of the Indiana Pacers-Milwaukee Bucks series, where Indiana holds a 3-1 lead. Regardless of the opponent, Cleveland will host Game 1 of the next round, with a few days to rest.

⚾ Twins Crush Guardians with 17-Hit Barrage and Ober’s Dominance

The Minnesota Twins erupted for a season-best 17 hits in an 11-1 rout of the Cleveland Guardians on Monday night.

Jonah Bride led the offensive surge with three hits, while Ryan Jeffers added a two-run homer and three RBIs. Edouard Julien set the tone early, belting a leadoff home run off Cleveland starter Gavin Williams, who lasted only two innings after allowing four runs.

Bailey Ober delivered a strong start for Minnesota, giving up just one run over 7 2/3 innings and earning his third consecutive win. Ten Twins players recorded hits, with six collecting multiple, as Minnesota won its fourth straight game.

Cleveland’s struggles continued, with their pitching staff allowing 24 runs over the past two games. Reliever Paul Sewald exited with a shoulder injury, forcing shortstop Will Wilson to pitch the final innings, where he surrendered Jeffers’ homer. Steven Kwan extended his hitting streak to 11 games, offering one of the few bright spots for the Guardians.

The series continues Tuesday, with Chris Paddock set to pitch for Minnesota against Cleveland's Tanner Bibee.
