🍔 Erie + Vine and Tony’s Burger Shop Bring Food and Fun to Former Dukes ‘N Boots Site
Downtown Willoughby is gearing up for the arrival of a dynamic new dining and entertainment spot this June. Taking over the former Dukes ‘N Boots and Burgers-N-Beer location at 4027 Erie Street, Erie + Vine and Tony’s Burger Shop will bring a fresh, retro-inspired concept to the area.
The new establishment is the brainchild of friends Katie Palko, Alex Fogle, and chef Anthony Zappola. Their collaborative venture will blend a casual burger joint with a lively bar and entertainment venue, creating a space that aims to be as versatile as it is welcoming.
Chef Zappola, known for his successful culinary ventures across the Cleveland area, will model the Willoughby location after his Tony’s Burger Shop in the Van Aken District. The menu will focus on classic comfort food with wide appeal—think smash burgers, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, fries, and onion rings.
The space will feature early 2000s-inspired decor with neon accents and a nostalgic atmosphere. Plans also include a dog-friendly patio, live music, and DJ sets to keep the energy high and the entertainment flowing.
City officials are enthusiastic about the opening, viewing the new concept as a meaningful addition to Downtown Willoughby. The blend of simple, satisfying food with a lively social setting is expected to attract a broad audience, from families and young adults to longtime residents.
Erie + Vine and Tony’s Burger Shop is poised to become more than just a place to eat—it’s designed to be a community hub where people can gather for both casual meals and upbeat evenings out.

⚾ Guardians Fall as Ramírez’s Streak Snapped in Angels Win
The Los Angeles Angels snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians Friday night at Progressive Field. José Soriano delivered six shutout innings, allowing four hits with two strikeouts and four walks.
Mike Trout returned after missing 26 games with a knee injury. Batting fifth for the first time since 2011, he went 1-for-5 with a single in the fourth inning.
Jo Adell paced the Angels’ offense with three hits and an RBI. He opened the scoring in the second with a single that brought home Jorge Soler, who had drawn a walk. The Angels added two more in the seventh on a passed ball and a Soler RBI single. Soler capped the night with a solo homer in the ninth.
Cleveland avoided a shutout in the ninth when Nolan Jones hit an RBI single. José Ramírez’s 21-game hitting streak ended, though he walked in the eighth to extend his on-base streak to 26 games.
A key moment came in the fourth when the Guardians loaded the bases with two outs, but Soriano struck out Gabriel Arias with a 98 mph sinker to escape.
Luis Ortiz took the loss for Cleveland, giving up two runs over six innings.
