As 2025 reaches its midpoint, honeygrowāa fast-casual concept known for its fresh, customizable stir-fries, salads, and signature honeybarsāis showing strong momentum in its national expansion. The brand has already opened five new locations this year and has six more scheduled for summer openings. Reinforcing this growth, honeygrow recently signed six new leases across Virginia, Massachusetts, Ohio, and New Jersey.
New Locations Announced:
Allston, MA: 305 Guest Street
Avon, OH: 1485 Nagel Road
Gainesville, VA: 5055 Wellington Road
Kearny, NJ: 190 Passaic Avenue
Mentor, OH: 9210 Mentor Avenue, at Mentor Commons Shopping Center

This wave of expansion builds on the brandās recent success, particularly in Ohio, where honeygrow opened its third state location in Akron last month. In Massachusetts, honeygrow continues to gain traction with a fourth location in Shrewsbury opening this June, and a third Boston-area restaurant to follow in Allston. Meanwhile, the Gainesville site in Virginia will deepen honeygrowās presence in Northern Virginia, following recent openings in Fair City and Springfield.
Since 2020, honeygrow has launched 37 locations, and the brand is on track to reach 70 restaurants by the end of 2025. The company credits its growth to a focused team, a disciplined real estate strategy, and a loyal customer base.

š° Mentor Council Approves Safety Village Funds, Advances Fire Station Plans

Safety Village to Undergo Renovations Ahead of 25th Anniversary
In case you missed it, Mentor Safety Village, a fixture in local safety education for nearly 25 years, received city approval for funding to support long-needed renovations at its training facility. The program, which educates third-grade students on critical safety practices, has grown to include parochial and homeschool students as well as participants from the Deepwood Center.
To complete upgradesāincluding plumbing, electrical, and wall constructionāthe organization requested $30,000 in city funds to supplement $20,000 it had already raised. The improvements target a facility that once served as a mechanics garage and later as a bomb disposal building. The city council unanimously approved the funding as part of its budget ordinance, ensuring the project moves forward in time for the programās milestone anniversary.
Fire Station #3 Design Work Moves Ahead
In a parallel effort to strengthen emergency services, council members also approved a contract with APP Architecture to design the cityās new Fire Station #3. The planned facility will include expanded vehicle bays, a specialized training tower, and dedicated spaces for confined space and elevated rescue training.
The upgraded station will accommodate multiple units, including two rescue squads, an engine, a ladder truck, and a heavy rescue vehicle. Construction is expected to begin before the end of 2025, with completion targeted for late 2026.
The Mentor City Council approved these significant investments in public safety, including funding for a long-standing youth education program and a major step forward in the construction of a new fire station, in April 2025.
Together, these initiatives reflect Mentorās continued commitment to public safety infrastructure and community preparedness.
