šŸ“° Mentor Woman Among 13 Charged in $180K Ohio Medicaid Fraud Case

A Mentor resident is one of thirteen Ohio health care providers now facing felony charges for allegedly defrauding Medicaid out of more than $180,000, according to a statement released Monday by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit within Attorney General Dave Yost’s office led the investigation, uncovering false billing practices by individuals across the state. The charges include multiple counts of submitting claims for services that were never rendered.

Among those indicted are 12 home health aides and one behavioral health specialist — Miranda Williams, 30, of Mentor. Authorities say Williams, who worked with students through GuidingPoint of Cleveland, claimed payments for services she did not provide. Investigators found that some of her reported hours were during times she wasn’t at her assigned school, and in some instances, her claims overlapped with those from a different counseling job. The fraudulent claims are believed to have cost Medicaid $26,915.

šŸ§µ Faithful Fruits Boutique Brings Art, Heart, and Hair to Mentor’s Main Street

With handmade treasures, creative classes, and a faith-driven mission, this unique boutique is becoming a haven for local artists—and the community they serve.

MENTOR, Ohio — Nestled along the bustle of Mentor Avenue is a storefront unlike any other in town. At first glance, Faithful Fruits Hair and Handmade Boutique appears to be a charming boutique brimming with candles, beachy dĆ©cor, and gifts. But step inside, and you’ll quickly discover it’s also a studio, a salon, a gallery—and a testament to faith.

Founded in 2025 by a longtime hairstylist with a heart for handmade art, Faithful Fruits is the result of two passions woven together through prayer and purpose. ā€œI’ve been doing hair for 13 years, but I’ve always loved art,ā€ says the owner, Leah Curtis. ā€œIt all started after I did my first craft show. I realized there wasn’t a consistent place for local artists to display and sell their work. So, I started praying—and the Lord started opening doors.ā€

What began as a small idea quickly bloomed into something much larger. Today, Faithful Fruits is a full-service boutique that showcases handmade goods by local creators, offers salon services, and hosts creative classes for the community.

More Than a Boutique

Inside the shop at 7771 Mentor Ave., you’ll find an eclectic mix of gifts and goods—each one handmade, and each with a story. Among the most popular items are therapeutic lotus candles and Lake Erie-inspired beach dĆ©cor, created using sand, stones, and shells sourced from the lake itself. ā€œCustomers love that they can take a piece of the lake home with them,ā€ the owner says.

There’s also embroidered fabric art, painted pet and horse portraits, custom woodwork, concrete dĆ©cor, and even handcrafted items using resin, beads, and glass. ā€œWe have something for everyone,ā€ she says. ā€œWood, metal, fabric—you name it.ā€

A Space to Create, Not Just Shop

What truly sets Faithful Fruits apart is its interactive spirit. Beyond retail, the boutique offers workshops and creative classes, inviting customers to make their own art alongside skilled instructors. Whether it’s knitting, seasonal crafts, or beginner art sessions, the goal is to empower the community through creativity.

ā€œThese classes give people a chance to explore something new—and maybe discover a hidden talent,ā€ the owner shares. ā€œWe want to create an environment where people feel inspired and supported.ā€

It’s a vision that’s already resonating. ā€œThe feedback has been incredible,ā€ Leah adds. ā€œPeople are excited not just to shop, but to return and be part of something.ā€

Rooted in Faith and Community

True to its name, Faithful Fruits is a business grounded in faith. Leah is candid about how her spiritual journey has guided the entire process. ā€œThis wasn’t just my idea—it was His,ā€ she says. ā€œEvery artist who’s part of this shop came into my life at just the right time. It’s been such a blessing.ā€

That sense of divine timing and community care flows into every sale. ā€œEach purchase builds up a local artist,ā€ she says. ā€œAnd for me, that’s the best part—seeing someone gain confidence in their work because someone believed in it enough to take it home.ā€

Looking Ahead

With its official opening earlier this year, Faithful Fruits is just getting started. Expanded hours begin in July, and a full lineup of classes is in the works. The shop also takes custom orders for embroidery and painted portraits—personal touches that have already made waves among returning customers.

As the boutique continues to grow, its mission remains the same: create a space where art, beauty, and faith can flourish together.

šŸ—„ļø How Home Organizing Is Evolving in 2025—From Kids’ Rooms to Crisis Kits

As we step into 2025, decluttering isn’t just about tidying up—it’s becoming a deeply personal, sustainable, and even digital experience. Professional organizers are seeing a shift in how people approach their homes and belongings, moving away from rigid rules and toward intuitive, lifestyle-focused systems.

One major trend for the year is a move toward individualized organizing. Rather than following popular philosophies like feng shui or the ā€œspark joyā€ method, people are now creating personalized strategies that reflect their own habits and family needs. This tailor-made approach emphasizes functionality over perfection.

Another growing movement is kid-centered organizing. There’s a push to involve children and teens in managing their own spaces with simple systems they can control. These efforts are designed not just for tidiness but also to reduce anxiety, particularly during life transitions like moving or starting a new school.

The rise of virtual decluttering services is next along with 3 other areas in need or organization. Read the Full Article at thespruce.com

šŸ€ Defense, Playmaking, and Playoff Dreams: Why the Cavs Wanted Lonzo Ball

After a second-round playoff exit, the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to take the next step by following a proven formula — one used by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who added a defensive guard from the Bulls and went on to win the title. Cleveland hopes for similar results after acquiring Lonzo Ball from Chicago in exchange for Isaac Okoro.

Defensive Upgrade

Okoro is a solid defender, but Ball brings more size, instinct, and versatility. At 6'6" with a 6'9" wingspan, Ball excels at both on-ball and off-ball defense. He moves well, times blocks and steals with precision, and disrupts passing lanes with strong rotations. His defensive feel allows him to cover multiple positions and make smart reads across the floor.

Playmaking Fit

Offensively, Ball ranks in the 96th percentile in assist-to-usage ratio for wings, showing his pass-first mentality. He fits naturally in Kenny Atkinson’s system, which values quick decision-making, ball movement, and cutting. Ball can initiate plays, advance the ball early in transition, and keep the defense off-balance with ā€œone moreā€ passes. His ability to connect plays and operate in broken situations makes him an ideal secondary playmaker.

Solving Playoff Issues

Cleveland struggled in the playoffs when Darius Garland was unavailable. Ball’s presence stabilizes the offense and takes pressure off both Garland and Donovan Mitchell. If Ty Jerome returns, he’ll be freed up to play a supporting role rather than lead the attack.

Cleveland is hoping Ball’s unselfish, high-IQ game — much like Alex Caruso’s impact in OKC — can help transform regular-season wins into a deeper postseason run.
