đ¨ Mentor Resident Held on $2M Bond in Child Sex Crime Case

Lake County Sheriffs Office
A 22-year-old Mentor man, previously convicted of a sex offense, is now facing additional felony charges involving alleged crimes against children.
According to the Lake County Sheriffâs Office and court records, David Matthew Anderson-Shockey II has been charged with gross sexual imposition, two counts of disseminating material harmful to juveniles, and one count of possessing material harmful to juveniles.
Anderson-Shockey is classified as a Tier II sex offender due to a 2024 conviction for pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.
The latest investigation began on July 12, when a mother reported to Willoughby Police that her 12-year-old son had been sexually assaulted the previous day while visiting a friendâs home. During a police interview, the child identified Anderson-Shockey and said he worked at a local donut and pizza shop. That information was later confirmed through the suspectâs offender registration.
Further investigation revealed that Anderson-Shockey had allegedly shown explicit videos and images to the boy and two other minorsâa 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl. Both girls told authorities they had seen the content on his phone, and one of them stated she was connected to him on Snapchat and could view his location.
The boy also reported that Anderson-Shockey touched him inappropriately.
Following these allegations, authorities located and arrested Anderson-Shockey. He is currently being held at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $2 million. The case has been forwarded to the Lake County Grand Jury for review.
