šØ Lake County Residents Among 13 Caught in Northeast Ohio Sex Sting
Thirteen Northeast Ohio men were arrested in a one-day sting targeting individuals attempting to pay for sex, including two from Lake County, according to the Ohio Attorney Generalās Office.
The operation, conducted near Solon by the Northeast Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force and Solon police, focused on identifying trafficking victims and arresting those seeking to buy sex. Among those charged were a 70āyearāold man from Madison and a 67āyearāold man from Willoughby, both in Lake County.
Authorities say two suspects were caught trying to meet undercover agents posing as minors. One man from Cleveland was also arrested for promoting prostitution.
The sting also led to the recovery of two missing children and the identification of nine potential human trafficking victims. Two foreign nationals were referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Officials say the stateās anti-trafficking operations will continue in an effort to deter the sex trade across Ohio.

š” "Apples to Apples" Tool Helps Ohioans Compare Energy Suppliers
Understanding Energy Choice: Shop for Your Electricity and Natural Gas Suppliers
Ohio residents and businesses have the power to choose their energy suppliers, thanks to a program known as Energy Choice. Similar to comparing prices and features when shopping for everyday products, Energy Choice allows consumers to shop for electricity and natural gas options from a wide range of certified suppliers.
This initiative, overseen by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), promotes competition in the energy market by certifying suppliers and providing resources to help consumers make informed decisions. Whether you're a large industrial user or a residential customer, you can compare plans, pricing, and contract terms from different energy providers to find one that fits your needs.
To assist in this process, PUCO offers the "Apples to Apples" comparison tool, which clearly lays out supplier options, making it easier to evaluate offers side-by-side. With more suppliers entering the market, Ohioans now have greater flexibility and control over where their energy comes from and how much they pay for it.

š Lake Catholic Clinches Bye, Defeats NDCL in Rivalry Thriller

Lake Catholic scored a pivotal victory on Oct. 25, edging rival Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (NDCL) 21-14. The win not only secured bragging rights but also earned the Cougars a first-round bye in the Division IV, Region 13 playoffs.
Now 8-2, Lake Catholic will enter the postseason as the third seed and await the winner of the Nov. 1 matchup between Streetsboro and West Geauga. NDCL (7-3) hosts Hubbard in the first round on Oct. 31 at Lion Stadium.
Though the game wasnāt a blowout, Lake Catholic controlled key moments behind its trademark defense and reliable running game. NDCL had a final chance to tie the game, but a fourth-down pass was broken up in Cougar territory. Lake then ran out the clock, forcing NDCL to burn its timeouts.
Senior Tyler Hribar sparked the defense with two interceptions ā his first of the year ā both leading to touchdowns. Junior fullback Danny Zmorowski ran for 101 yards and a score, while Max Pisano connected with Pete Malchesky for a 24-yard touchdown to tie the game after NDCL opened with a short TD run by quarterback Brady Capel.
Lake took a 14-7 halftime lead after Hribarās second pick set up Zmorowskiās 9-yard touchdown. Malchesky added to the lead with an 8-yard jet sweep score in the third quarter. NDCL cut it to 21-14 with a touchdown pass from Capel to Jonah Janosy, but couldnāt capitalize on their final drive.
Lake Catholic heads into a two-week break ahead of its Nov. 7 playoff matchup, focused on refining its already strong formula of defense and ball control.
