🎼 75 Years Strong: Messiah Chorus of Lake County Celebrates Milestone Performance
75th Annual Performance of Handel’s Messiah Set for December 7
The Messiah Chorus of Lake County will hold its 75th performance of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, December 7 at 4 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road in Concord Township.
The concert features 150 singers, joined by professional soloists, a string orchestra, organ, piano, harpsichord, and trumpet. Participants come from various faith backgrounds, continuing a long-standing holiday tradition.
Led by a seasoned conductor, this year’s production includes seven rehearsals to prepare for the complexity of the music. The conductor also oversees the host church’s music program and balances a full-time career outside of music.
First performed locally in 1950, Messiah has been staged at multiple venues across Lake County. The work, composed in 1742 and originally intended for Easter, has become a cherished part of the global Christmas season.
Admission is free, with a free-will offering supporting the cost of musicians and production. Seating is general admission.

If you have moved, you could save on car insurance
Did you move recently? Car insurance rules vary widely from state to state. Minimum liability requirements in one state may be far below what’s required in another. A best practice is to compare coverage limits and shop around for quotes whenever you move, rather than just updating your old policy. 🏈 Browns Leadership Likely Staying Put Despite Another Losing Season
Stability Likely for Browns as Stefanski, Berry Expected to Stay
The Cleveland Browns are closing in on another frustrating season, with one more loss marking their 19th double-digit defeat campaign since 1999. It would also be the third such outcome under head coach Kevin Stefanski, despite two playoff appearances and a pair of Coach of the Year awards.
Fan frustration has mounted amid ongoing struggles, and general manager Andrew Berry faces similar criticism. The controversial Watson trade cost the team three consecutive first-round picks, putting extra scrutiny on roster building, even as Berry’s 2024 rookie class draws praise.
Since the start of 2024, the Browns have gone just 6‑23, fueling speculation that ownership could part ways with Stefanski and Berry. However, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports that owner Jimmy Haslam may not be ready to shake things up again.
After years spent trying to align the front office and coaching staff, Haslam may view the current slump as fallout from the Watson deal — a decision the entire organization supported. Breer suggests one down year should be considered within the context of past progress.
The exit of chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta adds some uncertainty, but reports say he won’t be replaced, indicating a desire for continuity over disruption.
Breer believes Stefanski and Berry are likely to remain into 2026, aided by two first-round picks in the next draft and a renewed chance to fix the team’s quarterback issues.
For fans demanding change, patience might be necessary. The Browns have often fired leaders easily — but struggled to find lasting solutions.
