🚦 Council Reviews Traffic Fixes for Busy Heisley–Chillicothe–Mentor Intersection

Heisley, Chillicothe, Mentor Avenue Intersection
Traffic congestion at the intersection of Heisley Road, Chillicothe Road and Mentor Avenue was a key topic at a recent City Council meeting, with officials discussing both short-term concerns and long-term solutions.
Councilman Sean Blake raised the issue, citing frequent backups in the busy corridor. Delays tend to worsen on warmer winter and early spring days, when traffic increases at a nearby car wash. At times, vehicle queues have reduced Mentor Avenue to a single lane, significantly slowing traffic.
City engineers reported that two studies are currently underway. A capacity analysis will determine whether adding lanes could improve traffic flow, while a traffic signal timing study will evaluate whether adjustments to signal patterns could reduce delays.
Staff members are comparing current traffic counts to previous data from a nearby analysis. Depending on the results, additional traffic counts or an expanded study area may be considered. Officials noted that congestion is also affected by emergency vehicle runs and nearby retail-area intersections that impact signal coordination.
Council members also discussed stronger enforcement for drivers who block travel lanes while waiting to turn. The police department has been directed to address the issue, though officials must balance enforcement with maintaining traffic flow. Additional signage and other deterrents may also be considered.
The possibility of adding a dedicated turning lane on Chillicothe Road for vehicles turning onto Mentor Avenue was discussed as a potential improvement.
Council agreed to wait for the results of the traffic studies before determining next steps.

📰 Do Vets Recommend Dental Chews — And Do They Work?
Dogs are just as vulnerable to dental problems as humans, including gum disease and tooth decay. Fortunately, along with regular brushing, certain foods and treats can help support oral health. Many dog foods are formulated to reduce plaque and tartar, while dental chews are designed with a mildly abrasive texture that helps scrub away buildup as dogs chew.
Veterinarians recommend offering dental treats two to three times per week in addition to brushing your dog’s teeth with a dog-safe toothpaste and toothbrush. Experts emphasize that dental treats should carry the Veterinary Oral Health Council’s Registered Seal, which indicates the product meets standards for reducing plaque or tartar.
When shopping for dental chews, pet owners should also ensure the treat is appropriately sized for their dog to prevent choking. Checking the nutritional information is important as well, since treats contribute to a dog’s daily calorie intake and may require adjustments to regular meals.
Age is another key factor. Dental treats are generally recommended for dogs six months and older. Puppies younger than six months should avoid them because their adult teeth have not fully developed.
Veterinarian guidance and product recommendations highlight several standout options, including Greenies Original Regular Dental Dog Treats as a top overall pick, Pedigree Dentastix for a budget-friendly choice and Virbac Cet Veggiedent Fresh Tartar Control Chews for dogs with sensitive stomachs.
What investment is rudimentary for billionaires but ‘revolutionary’ for 70,571+ investors entering 2026?
Imagine this. You open your phone to an alert. It says, “you spent $236,000,000 more this month than you did last month.”
If you were the top bidder at Sotheby’s fall auctions, it could be reality.
Sounds crazy, right? But when the ultra-wealthy spend staggering amounts on blue-chip art, it’s not just for decoration.
The scarcity of these treasured artworks has helped drive their prices, in exceptional cases, to thin-air heights, without moving in lockstep with other asset classes.
The contemporary and post war segments have even outpaced the S&P 500 overall since 1995.*
Now, over 70,000 people have invested $1.2 billion+ across 500 iconic artworks featuring Banksy, Basquiat, Picasso, and more.
How? You don’t need Medici money to invest in multimillion dollar artworks with Masterworks.
