The $66 Billion Opportunity in Weddings
Fact: People will spend for love.
Americans spent $66 billion on weddings last year. And, as always, flowers were a non-negotiable part of that spend. This highlights a unique market opportunity for The Bouqs Co. right now.
Famous for cutting the time it takes flowers to travel farm-to-door by 3x, The Bouqs Co. is already one of the country’s largest floral subscription services. But their latest expansion to 70+ brick-and-mortar stores could unlock more high-margin events, like weddings.
They already have 100% YoY growth in counties where stores have opened, with more than $1.2m in revenue per store.
You can join this chapter as they capture more of the $100b global floral market. Become an early shareholder in The Bouqs Co.

🚨 Search Continues for Missing Painesville Man as Clues Remain Scarce

Authorities in Painesville continue searching for 47-year-old James Urbanick, missing since February, as efforts involving search teams, drones, and tracking dogs have not produced answers.
Urbanick, known for his independent nature, has gone extended periods without contact before. However, friends say this disappearance is unusual given the circumstances.
Concern grew after a friend noticed his vehicle parked along Riverside Drive for weeks. After checking Urbanick’s home and finding an overflowing mailbox and no activity, the friend contacted police.
Investigators found the unlocked vehicle still contained his phone and keys, raising further concern. While Urbanick often enjoys hiking, the length of his absence and items left behind are considered unusual.
A large-scale weekend search involving volunteers and specialized equipment did not uncover new leads. Authorities are now working to establish a timeline of his last known movements.
Police urge anyone with information to contact the Painesville Police Department as the investigation continues.

📰 March for Meals Fundraiser Returns to Great Lakes Mall to Support Local Seniors
The Lake County Council on Aging is set to host its annual March for Meals fundraiser on March 28 at the Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, aiming to support local Meals on Wheels programs.
The event will begin with registration at 8 a.m. in the mall’s food court and run through 10 a.m. It is part of a nationwide campaign focused on raising awareness about senior hunger and the importance of nutrition services for older adults.
Organizers say the initiative highlights the role meal delivery programs play in helping seniors maintain independence while addressing food insecurity and social isolation. The event also encourages community involvement through volunteering, donations, and outreach efforts.
Participants can register in advance or on the day of the event. A small registration fee applies, with discounted pricing for children. Attendees will also be able to enjoy light refreshments and take part in raffle opportunities.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will support services that assist thousands of Lake County seniors each year, helping them remain in their homes with access to reliable meals and support.

🐕🦺 Can Any Dog Be a Service Dog? Here’s What Ohio Law Actually Says

It’s becoming a growing issue across the country—and it’s likely happening right here in Mentor, too.
More pet owners are bringing dogs into restaurants, stores, and public spaces by labeling them as “service animals.” The problem? Many of these dogs aren’t actually trained service animals at all.
Thanks to online retailers, it’s surprisingly easy to purchase official-looking vests, ID cards, and certificates. But under the Americans with Disabilities Act, none of those items make a dog a legitimate service animal.
A true service dog is individually trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability—such as guiding someone who is visually impaired or alerting to medical conditions. Emotional support animals, while important, are not granted the same public access rights.
This distinction matters.
Untrained dogs in public spaces can create safety concerns, disrupt businesses, and make life more difficult for individuals who rely on properly trained service animals every day. It also puts business owners in a tough position—balancing customer experience with legal limitations on what they’re allowed to ask.
In communities like Mentor, where local restaurants, shops, and events bring people together, this issue hits close to home.
For pet owners, the takeaway is simple: bringing your dog along may feel harmless, but misrepresenting a pet as a service animal can have real consequences.
And for everyone else, a little awareness goes a long way in respecting those who truly depend on these highly trained companions.

🏀 Heat Snap Skid with Dominant Team Effort in Win Over Cavaliers
Can Cleveland play defense? Miami’s offense found its rhythm as the Heat defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-103 on Wednesday night, snapping a five-game losing streak. Norman Powell scored 19 points and Tyler Herro added 18, leading a balanced effort with eight players reaching double figures.
The Heat built a 21-point first-half lead and stayed in control for most of the game. Cleveland mounted a third-quarter comeback, erasing a 17-point deficit, but Miami responded in the fourth. A quick sequence featuring a three-point play by Bam Adebayo and a layup from Kel’el Ware helped secure the win.
Adebayo finished with 17 points, while Ware recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds. Miami also knocked down 13 shots from beyond the arc.
Donovan Mitchell led Cleveland with 28 points before fouling out late. James Harden and Sam Merrill each scored 18. The Cavaliers’ four-game winning streak ended as defensive struggles and injuries persisted, including Jarrett Allen’s continued absence and Dean Wade’s ankle injury during warmups.
The teams will meet again Friday in Cleveland for their final matchup of the season.

🥍 Mentor Falls to GlenOak Despite Strong Effort from Fink
GlenOak’s Golden Eagles opened their season with a strong second-half surge Tuesday, defeating the Mentor Lady Cardinals 12-8. The two teams battled evenly through the first period, ending in a 6-6 tie, but GlenOak pulled away in the second to secure the win.
Senior Ava Lee led Mentor’s offense with an impressive six goals, converting on nearly all of her scoring opportunities. Mentor found contributions from multiple players, including Sydney Fink, who scored twice, while Lila Weagraff and Kaitlyn Liebhardt added assists to keep the offense moving.
Defensively and in transition, Taylor Stanton and Weagraff each collected three ground balls to lead Mentor in that category. Fink was also active in draw situations, recording a high number of attempts and controls throughout the game.
In goal, Mentor’s Sammy McGinnis faced consistent pressure, allowing 12 goals on 15 shots in the loss.
