🧹 Mentor Launches 2026 Yard Waste Collection Season Starting April 6
The City of Mentor is set to launch its 2026 yard waste collection program beginning April 6, with services continuing through December 11. Residents are encouraged to follow specific guidelines to ensure efficient pickup throughout the season.
Each yard waste unit must weigh under 35 pounds. Branches and brush are limited to three inches in diameter and should be trimmed into four-foot lengths, then securely bundled. Other organic materials—such as grass clippings, leaves, hedge trimmings, and small twigs—can be placed in paper yard waste bags or in rigid containers no larger than 32 gallons. These containers must have drainage holes near the base, remain uncovered, and be clearly labeled with “YW.”
Collection limits vary throughout the year. From April through the third week of October, households may set out up to 12 units per week. This allowance increases to 25 units per week from the last full week of October through mid-December.
Residents seeking additional details can access the city’s Waste Removal and Recycling resources, including the 2026 collection calendar.
