🐰 From Parks to Ballparks: Easter Events Fill Lake County Calendar

Families across Mentor and nearby Lake County have plenty of opportunities to celebrate Easter this weekend, with egg hunts and festive gatherings filling both Saturday and Sunday schedules.
Saturday morning kicks off with a community egg hunt at Mentor United Methodist Church, where children can search for eggs, play games, and enjoy a seasonal visit from the Easter Bunny. For something a little different, The Helicopter Daughter Tea & Self Care Studio is hosting its fifth annual in-store egg hunt throughout the day, offering a relaxed, shop-and-search experience with prizes, samples, and small surprises.
Baseball fans can head to Classic Park in Eastlake, where the Lake County Captains are pairing their game day with a pregame egg hunt, giving kids a chance to explore the stadium in a festive way.
Sunday celebrations continue at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, where an Easter service will be followed by a welcoming egg hunt for attendees. Meanwhile, Shops by the Lake in Painesville is planning a large-scale event featuring thousands of eggs, prize giveaways, and activities for younger children.
With a mix of traditional hunts and creative twists, families have no shortage of ways to celebrate the holiday close to home. We encourage checking event details in advance, as some activities may reach capacity. See all the details like times, locations and more on our website mentorlocalbuzz.com.

⚾ DeLauter’s Big Night Fuels Cleveland Win Over Chicago
Cleveland opened at home with a 4-1 win over the Chicago Cubs, fueled by a seventh-inning surge that included home runs from Chase DeLauter and Gabriel Arias.
DeLauter led the way with three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run homer that extended the lead. Arias added a solo shot earlier in the inning to put Cleveland ahead.
The Guardians tied the game in the fifth when DeLauter drove in a run with a base hit. Chicago’s only run came in the third on an RBI from Miguel Amaya.
Connor Brogdon earned the win and Cade Smith secured the save as Cleveland’s pitching held steady. The game was played in unusually warm conditions for an early-season opener.
Chicago starter Cade Horton exited in the second inning with right forearm discomfort after throwing 17 pitches.
DeLauter’s fifth home run tied him for the American League lead, while Arias rebounded from an earlier baserunning out with his second of the season.
