The Key to Better aging: More NAD+
Most skincare works on the surface. Aramore goes where real aging begins: the basal layer of the skin, where new cells form. Backed by decades of research from Harvard and MIT scientists, Aramore is the first topical system designed to support skin’s NAD+ — the molecule your cells rely on for repair, energy, and resilience.
As NAD+ naturally declines with age, visible changes follow: dullness, uneven tone, fine lines, and loss of firmness. Aramore’s unique complex of NAD+ precursors, ketones, and fatty acids helps replenish cells at the source for skin that acts healthier and younger.
Clinically shown to improve tone, radiance, smoothness, and firmness as soon as 28 days.

🏗️ Mentor Fire Station No. 3 Project Moves Toward Construction Phase
The City of Mentor is moving closer to construction of Fire Station No. 3, with officials confirming that the formal bidding process is now underway for the long-planned project.
During the April 21 City Council meeting, administrators said a recent pre-bid meeting attracted several contractors interested in the project. Sealed bids are due May 15, and city officials anticipate presenting a recommended contract award to council at its first June meeting.
If approved, groundbreaking could take place in mid-June, allowing construction to begin during the heart of the building season. Officials said timing is important because contractors need several months of favorable weather to get the structure enclosed before winter.
The city estimates the project will require about 14 months of construction. Officials said their goal is to open the station in August 2027, depending on weather conditions and project progress.
Fire Station No. 3 is expected to provide expanded emergency service coverage and support Mentor’s long-term public safety needs. Council has already approved related easement agreements needed for site access and development.
With bids due next month, residents could begin seeing visible progress soon on one of the city’s most significant municipal construction projects in recent years.
City leaders said maintaining the timeline remains a priority as the project enters its next phase.

🍧 Sweet Incentive: Safe Riding Program Returns to Mentor-on-the-Lake
Mentor-on-the-Lake Police have launched a new Safety Citation Program to encourage safer riding among children and teens using e-bikes, bicycles, scooters and skateboards.
Working with Pelican’s Snoballs, officers can give citations to young riders seen wearing helmets and following traffic laws. Each citation can be redeemed for a free kiddie-size Snoball.
Police say the program responds to a recent rise in complaints and accidents involving e-bikes and scooters. Many violations involve juveniles who may not understand the rules or risks tied to the devices.
The department says the effort is meant to reward responsible behavior while educating riders about safety and legal requirements.
Pelican’s owners Emily and Ryan Findak partnered with police to support the initiative.
Additional outreach is planned, including a May 4 safety assembly for fourth- and fifth-grade students at Lake Elementary School and a public meeting May 6 at 7 p.m. for parents and children covering laws, safety tips and questions.
Officials noted the city has already had one e-bike crash involving a motorist this year and hope the program helps prevent more accidents during the busy summer season.

📰 Officer Dan Radigan Teaches Students Online Safety Skills

Mentor Police Dept

Mentor Police Dept
Officer Dan Radigan recently met with a local hybrid homeschool group to discuss internet and social media safety, topics that remain increasingly important for young people.
Students learned how to make smart choices online, protect personal information and use social media responsibly. Radigan used relatable examples and real-world scenarios to keep the discussion engaging and easy to understand.
After the presentation, students took part in a hands-on activity using fatal vision glasses while playing cornhole and walking a straight line. The exercise showed how impairment can affect balance, coordination and judgment through an interactive lesson.
Programs like this help give young people the awareness and knowledge needed to stay safe online and in everyday life while strengthening positive connections between law enforcement and local students.

🐈 7 Spring Backyard Hazards That Can Send Pets to the Vet

Spring in Ohio means greener yards, open windows, and more time outside with pets. But it also brings seasonal dangers many owners may overlook. Here are 7 backyard hazards Mentor pet owners should watch this spring.
1. Mulch Risks
Fresh mulch can be a problem, especially cocoa mulch, which may contain compounds toxic to dogs. Even regular mulch can upset a pet’s stomach if swallowed.
2. Lawn Chemicals
Fertilizers, weed killers, and other lawn treatments can be harmful. Keep pets off treated grass until the product label says it is safe.
3. Wild Mushrooms
Mushrooms often appear after spring rain. Some are harmless, but others can damage the liver or nervous system. Remove any mushrooms you find right away.
4. Standing Water
Buckets, planters, clogged gutters, and puddles can collect water that attracts mosquitoes and bacteria. Pets may drink it and become sick.
5. Ticks in Tall Grass
Ticks are active across Northeast Ohio in the spring and often hide in grass, brush, and wooded areas. Check pets carefully after outdoor play.
6. Grill and Food Dangers
Backyard cookouts can create hazards. Onions, cooked bones, greasy scraps, and alcohol should always be kept out of reach.
7. Escape Routes and Yard Hazards
Open gates, damaged fences, sharp tools, loose netting, antifreeze drips, fallen branches, and splintered wood can all put pets at risk. Cats may also hide in crawlspaces or under decks where wildlife may nest.
Best Prevention Plan
Walk your yard weekly and do a quick five-minute check before letting pets out each day. Store chemicals securely, mow regularly, remove hazards, and keep fresh water available. If your pet vomits, seems weak, limps, drools excessively, or acts unusually quiet after being outside, contact your veterinarian promptly. Quick action can make a major difference.

⚾ Alvarez’s MLB-Leading 11th Homer Powers Astros Past Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians were shut out 2-0 by the Houston Astros on Wednesday as Yordan Alvarez hit his major league-leading 11th home run.
Alvarez’s two-run homer in the first inning off Tanner Bibee proved to be the difference as Cleveland dropped the series, losing two of three games at home.
Bibee fell to 0-3 despite settling in after the opening inning. Houston managed only the early scoring against Cleveland pitching.
The Guardians were limited offensively by Peter Lambert, who threw six scoreless innings and allowed three hits in his second start of the season. Cleveland threatened in the fourth inning with two runners aboard, but Lambert escaped by striking out José Ramírez and Kyle Manzardo.
Houston’s bullpen completed the five-hit shutout, with Enyel De Los Santos earning his third save.
Cleveland now heads to Toronto for a three-game series beginning Friday, with Gavin Williams scheduled to start the opener.
