I'm 63 With $1.5M. Can I Spend $10K a Month?

You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.

Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?

Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.

The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.

That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.

Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.

Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.

If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.

🎸 Mentor Rocks Opens 2026 Season With Forever Seger

MENTOR, Ohio — Mentor Rocks returns this evening, Tuesday, June 2, with Forever Seger opening the 2026 Ken Ganley KIA Mentor Rocks summer concert series at 7 p.m.

The Bob Seger tribute act brings the sound of Seger and The Silver Bullet Band to the Mentor Civic Amphitheater, with a set expected to include favorites like “Turn the Page,” “Hollywood Nights,” “Old Time Rock and Roll,” and “Night Moves.”

The FREE summer series runs Tuesdays from June 2 through Aug. 25 and is known for its relaxed, festival-style atmosphere, lawn seating, food vendors, and big summer crowds. In 2025, Mentor Rocks drew 132,550 attendees, according to the city.

One important change this year: no coolers. The city says outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are still allowed, but they must be hand carried. Anyone bringing a cooler will be asked to return it to their vehicle.

Guests should bring lawn chairs or blankets, since the amphitheater does not have permanent seating. Outside alcohol, glass containers, food deliveries, and pets are not permitted on the main amphitheater grounds.

Home & Property - Series: A Smart Homeowner’s Summer Guide

Every homeowner eventually faces the same question:

Should I repair it, replace it, or simply leave it alone?

The answer is rarely as simple as it seems.

Most people focus on the item itself—a cracked driveway, aging deck boards, old windows, or a noisy air conditioner. But experienced homeowners often start somewhere else:

What happens if I wait?

A small drywall crack above a doorway may be mostly cosmetic and not require immediate attention. A loose deck board, however, can allow water to penetrate deeper into the structure, turning a simple repair into a much larger project.

The same thinking applies throughout your home.

An older air conditioner that still cools effectively may be worth repairing. But if breakdowns are becoming more frequent and utility bills keep climbing, replacement may actually be the less expensive option over time.

Many of the costliest home repairs begin as small issues that quietly worsen.

A minor roof problem can lead to interior water damage.

A clogged gutter can contribute to foundation issues.

A leaning fence can become a complete fence replacement after one strong storm.

One simple decision framework can help:

  • Is the problem getting worse?

  • Could waiting create additional damage?

  • Would fixing it now cost significantly less than fixing it later?

If you answer "yes" to two or more of those questions, delaying may not be the most affordable choice.

For many homeowners in Mentor, the goal isn't keeping everything perfect. It's knowing which issues can wait, which deserve attention now, and which will likely become much more expensive if ignored.

👉 On the website:
We'll break down common home issues—including roofs, decks, driveways, HVAC systems, windows, fences, gutters, water heaters, and appliances—and help you decide when to repair, replace, or simply monitor the situation.

Most homeowners don't need more maintenance checklists. They need a practical way to decide where their money will have the biggest impact. Here's a closer look at how to evaluate some of the most common home repair decisions.

🏈 Cleveland Secures Future Assets in High-Profile Myles Garrett Trade

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have traded star edge rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in one of the NFL offseason’s biggest moves. In return, Cleveland receives edge defender Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.

Garrett joins a Rams team already viewed as a leading Super Bowl contender. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is coming off a record-setting 23-sack season and has been one of the NFL’s most dominant defenders for several years. His addition further strengthens a defense that was already upgraded this offseason.

While Garrett immediately boosts Los Angeles’ championship hopes, Cleveland secured a significant return. Verse, the 2025 Defensive Rookie of the Year, has quickly developed into one of the league’s top young edge defenders and remains under affordable team control for multiple seasons.

The financial aspect also favors the Browns, as Garrett is due more than $73 million over the next two years, while Verse remains on his rookie contract.

For Cleveland, the trade reflects a long-term approach, turning an aging superstar into a younger player and valuable draft assets. For the Rams, the move signals an all-in effort to win now, though at a considerable long-term cost.
