🌡️ High heat and humidity expected Wednesday in Lake County

Lake County will see hot and humid conditions Wednesday, though the county is not included in the Heat Advisory issued for neighboring Cuyahoga County and westward.
Afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid-90s across Northeast Ohio. Heat index values could climb into the upper 90s, creating uncomfortable and potentially dangerous conditions, especially for older adults, young children, pets and people with health concerns.
Residents should limit strenuous outdoor activity, drink plenty of water and check on vulnerable neighbors and family members. Children and pets should never be left inside parked vehicles.
Humidity is not expected to become extreme, but enough moisture will remain in the air to make conditions feel hotter.
A weak front may move through Wednesday night, bringing a chance for an isolated thunderstorm. Severe weather is not expected.
More comfortable temperatures should follow, with highs returning to the middle and upper 80s.
📊 Mentor office vacancy rate dips to 2.5% in Q2 2026

City of Mentor
Mentor’s office market remained one of the tightest in the region during the second quarter of 2026, with a vacancy rate of just 2.5%, according to data prepared by the City of Mentor’s Planning & Development Department using CoStar market data.
That figure is down 0.1 percentage point from the first quarter of 2026 and down 0.3 points from the adjusted rate in the second quarter of 2025.
For comparison, the broader Cleveland-area office market posted a 10.4% vacancy rate in CoStar’s second-quarter report, which tracks about 148 million square feet of office space across eight counties. In Lake County, the vacancy rate was 3.9%, up 0.4 points from Q1 2026 and up 0.3 points from Q2 2025.
The Lake County office market includes about 5.5 million square feet in 478 buildings. Mentor accounts for about 1.8 million square feet, or roughly 32% of the county’s total office inventory.
The city’s largest available office spaces are currently at:
9500 Mentor Ave. — 16,146 square feet
6990 Lindsay Dr. — 7,102 square feet
8300 Tyler Blvd. — 6,370 square feet
The numbers suggest Mentor continues to hold a relatively strong office market compared with both Lake County and the larger Northeast Ohio region.

🙆🏻 A Five-Minute Stretching Habit for Everyday Stiffness
Feeling stiff after getting out of bed, working at a desk or spending a long time in the car is common. A few minutes of gentle movement may help you feel more comfortable without requiring a gym membership or a complicated workout.
Start with a minute of easy walking or marching in place. Then give some attention to the areas that often feel tight during daily life: your neck, shoulders, upper back, hamstrings and calves.
Move slowly and breathe normally. You should feel mild tension, not sharp pain. Avoid bouncing or forcing your body into a position it does not comfortably reach.
The goal is not to become impressively flexible. It is to maintain the movement that helps with ordinary tasks such as reaching, bending, putting on shoes and getting out of a chair.
Regular stretching is also easier to maintain when it is connected to something you already do. Try it after brushing your teeth, following a warm shower, during a television break or after shutting down your computer for the day.
Five minutes will not address every cause of stiffness, but it can be a manageable way to add more movement to your routine.
Our complete guide provides a timed five-minute routine, easier modifications and important signs that it is time to stop.

⚾ Guardians trio makes impact in 2026 MLB All-Star Game
Cleveland Guardians representatives Parker Messick, Cade Smith and Travis Bazzana took part in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, helping the American League earn a 4-0 victory over the National League.
Messick entered to begin the second inning and delivered a flawless appearance. The rookie left-hander retired all three batters he faced, allowing no hits or runs while recording one strikeout.
Smith was equally effective during his inning of work. The Guardians closer set down the National League in order and struck out Corbin Carroll and Bryce Harper.
Smith entered the All-Star break as the league leader with 28 saves.
Bazzana also made his All-Star debut. The Guardians second baseman went hitless in two at-bats and struck out once.
