🚨 Beachwood Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Great Lakes Mall Bathroom Case
A Beachwood man has received the maximum six-year prison sentence in a case involving an 11-year-old boy inside a restroom at Great Lakes Mall in Mentor.
According to The News-Herald, Lake County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey W. Ruple sentenced Joshua Yanowitz on two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person and three counts of voyeurism.
Yanowitz received 18 months on each pandering count and 12 months on each voyeurism count. The terms total six years.
Court records cited by The News-Herald also require Yanowitz to register as a Tier II sex offender.
During sentencing, Ruple pointed to evidence that Yanowitz had researched the section of Ohio law covering the pandering charges. According to The News-Herald, the judge said the research demonstrated that Yanowitz understood the nature of his conduct.
According to a City of Mentor news release cited by The News-Herald, the case began Dec. 30, 2025, after a father called 911 and reported that a man appeared to be recording his 11-year-old son in the mall’s men’s restroom. Mentor police responded, identified Yanowitz and arrested him following a brief interview.
Yanowitz entered a written guilty plea in May.

Why You Feel Tired Before the Day Is Over
Small decisions, repeated interruptions and unfinished tasks can consume more energy than an ordinary day appears to require.
By midafternoon, many people feel as though the day has already taken everything they had to give.
That feeling is not always about poor sleep, physical exertion or a lack of discipline. Energy can also be drained by demands that barely register as work: answering messages, remembering appointments, making small decisions, shifting between tasks and carrying unfinished responsibilities in the background.
Consider an ordinary morning. You begin one task, stop to answer a text, return to the task, remember a bill, take a phone call and then try to recall where you left off. Nothing was especially difficult. Still, your attention had to restart several times.
That effort adds up.
Small decisions can have a similar effect. What needs to happen first? Should you respond now? What should everyone eat? Which errand can wait? By late afternoon, one more simple choice may feel surprisingly heavy.
Try a one-day energy-leak audit. Notice when your energy drops, then ask what happened just before it. Look for five common drains:
Decisions. Interruptions. Unfinished tasks. Emotional demands. Missing pauses.
You do not need to fix all five. Choose one small adjustment. Group similar tasks. Silence unnecessary alerts for 30 minutes. Write down unfinished responsibilities instead of holding them in your mind. Leave a few quiet minutes between two demanding activities.
The goal is not to eliminate responsibility or create a perfect schedule. It is to spend energy more intentionally.
Feeling tired before the day is over does not mean you are lazy or failing. It may be useful information about how your day is structured—and where a small change could help.
👉🏻 Use the five-part energy-leak audit to identify what is draining you and choose one realistic change that fits the schedule you already have.

⚾ Guardians Miss Early Chances in 6-2 Loss to Mets
The Cleveland Guardians had opportunities to take control Tuesday night, but one costly error and a long list of missed chances led to a 6-2 loss to the New York Mets at Progressive Field.
Cleveland loaded the bases with nobody out in the first inning against Sean Manaea. The Guardians came away empty after Manaea recorded two strikeouts and Travis Bazzana grounded into a forceout.
The game turned an inning later. A throwing error by third baseman Gabriel Arias extended the second, and Luis Torrens followed with a three-run homer that gave New York a 3-0 lead. Torrens finished with three hits and four RBIs.
The Guardians continued to put runners on base but could not deliver consistently. They stranded 11 and finished 2-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
Jo Adell provided one of Cleveland’s bright spots, collecting two hits in his Guardians debut after being acquired from the Los Angeles Angels at the trade deadline. Steven Kwan also extended his on-base streak to 21 games.
Starter Joey Cantillo allowed five runs on seven hits over five innings, although only two of the runs were earned.
Cleveland will look for a cleaner performance Wednesday when Tanner Bibee starts against Mets right-hander Christian Scott.

⚾ Captains’ Four-Run Rally Falls Short in 7-6 Loss at Lansing
The Lake County Captains nearly erased a five-run deficit Tuesday night, scoring four times in the eighth inning before falling 7-6 to the Lansing Lugnuts.
Cleveland Guardians pitcher Ben Lively made his third rehabilitation start for Lake County. The right-hander allowed two runs on four hits over 2⅔ innings and struck out three.
Lansing scored twice in the first, but Cannon Peebles answered with his first home run of the season in the second. Anthony Martinez added an RBI double in the fifth, briefly cutting the Lugnuts’ lead to 3-2.
Lansing responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and another in the sixth to build a 7-2 advantage. Will McCausland pitched 5⅓ innings in relief of Lively and was charged with five runs.
Lake County came back with four runs in the eighth. Luis De La Cruz doubled home Jeffrey Mercedes and Peebles, Garrett Howe followed with an RBI double, and Jonah Advincula tripled home Howe to pull the Captains within one.
The Captains were unable to score the tying run and fell to 17-18, leaving them three games out of first place.
Lake County continues its series at Lansing on Wednesday.
