Families planning to attend Mentor’s Just Kids’ Stuff Garage Sale should note an important schedule correction.

The event will be held Saturday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mentor Community Recreation Center, 6000 Heisley Road. The City of Mentor says its printed Fall 2026 Mentor Special Edition incorrectly listed the hours as 2 to 6 p.m.

Shoppers can browse gently used children’s clothing, toys, books, baby gear and other family items in an indoor, weather-protected setting.

Residents interested in selling can reserve a table for $25, while the nonresident price is $30. Vendors should call 440-205-3608 to confirm availability.

Cleveland found another way to win Sunday.

Daniel Schneemann singled home Angel Genao in the 10th inning, giving the Guardians a 3-2 victory over Detroit and their third walk-off win in the four-game series at Progressive Field.

Brayan Rocchio tied the game 2-2 with his 13th homer in the fifth. Gavin Williams struck out 11 over six innings, giving him an MLB-leading 11 double-digit strikeout games this season.

Cade Smith then delivered two perfect relief innings, including three strikeouts in the 10th despite Detroit starting the inning with an automatic runner at second.

The win moved Cleveland one game ahead of Toronto for the final American League wild-card spot as the Guardians continue chasing Chicago in the AL Central.

Cleveland now heads to Baltimore, where Joey Cantillo is scheduled to start Monday’s series opener against the Orioles.

The Lake County Captains closed their 2026 season Sunday with a 4-2 loss to the Great Lakes Loons, finishing a winning year just outside the Midwest League playoffs.

Lake County took a 2-0 lead on Dauri Fernández’s first-inning run and Juan Benjamin’s RBI double in the second. Great Lakes answered with an Eduardo Guerrero RBI single in the fourth before Anson Aroz hit a two-run homer in the fifth to put the Loons ahead.

The Captains drew nine walks but stranded 14 runners and struck out 11 times.

Starter Harrison Bodendorf allowed three runs on three hits over 4⅔ innings, striking out six.

Lake County finished 69-59 overall, going 37-27 in the first half and 32-32 in the second. Despite narrowly missing the playoffs, the Captains ended 2026 with a winning record and several promising performances.
