Ohio residents can now add their driver's licenses and state IDs to Apple Wallet, becoming the fifth state to offer this feature. This initiative, announced by Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted, aims to enhance convenience and modernize processes through technology. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, in collaboration with Apple’s InnovateOhio Platform, developed the support for digital IDs, which can be used at select businesses and TSA checkpoints. Security measures ensure IDs are encrypted and only accessible by the user. The feature requires an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.5, or an Apple Watch Series 4 with WatchOS 9.5.

🐈Essential Tips for Pet Health: Preventing Common Issues
Ensuring the health and wellness of pets is a top priority for any responsible pet owner. By staying informed about common health issues and implementing preventative measures, pet owners can significantly enhance the quality of life for their furry companions.
Common Health Issues in Pets
Obesity is one of the most prevalent health issues in pets, leading to diabetes, heart disease, and joint problems. This condition is primarily caused by overfeeding and lack of exercise.
Dental disease, resulting from poor dental hygiene, is another common issue. Periodontal disease can cause tooth loss, pain, and even systemic infections.
Parasites such as fleas, ticks, and worms are frequent culprits of pet health problems. These parasites can cause anything from skin irritations to severe diseases like Lyme disease and heartworm.
Allergies in pets can be triggered by food, environmental factors, or parasites. Symptoms include itching, redness, and digestive issues.
Arthritis, especially common in older pets, leads to pain and mobility issues. This condition can result from aging, previous injuries, or genetic predisposition.
Preventative Measures
Proper nutrition is crucial. Feeding pets a balanced diet prevents obesity and ensures overall health. Consultation with a veterinarian helps determine the best diet for each pet’s specific needs.
Regular exercise maintains a healthy weight, promotes cardiovascular health, and provides essential mental stimulation.
Dental care is essential for preventing periodontal disease. Routine brushing and using dental treats or toys can help maintain oral health.
Parasite prevention involves regular use of preventive medications and maintaining a clean living environment. A veterinarian can recommend the best treatments.
Regular vet check-ups are key for early detection and treatment of health issues. Vaccinations and health screenings can prevent many common diseases.
Managing allergies involves identifying triggers and developing a treatment plan with a veterinarian. This may include special diets, medications, or environmental changes.
For pets prone to arthritis, supplements like glucosamine and chondroitin support joint health. Maintaining a healthy weight and providing comfortable bedding can alleviate symptoms.
By understanding these common health issues and taking proactive steps, pet owners can ensure their pets live long, healthy, and happy lives. Regular veterinary care, combined with proper nutrition, exercise, and preventative measures, forms the cornerstone of pet health and wellness.

⚾ Bazzana's Grand Slam Propels Lake County to Victory
Travis Bazzana has made a remarkable start to his professional baseball career. In the first game of a double header on Wednesday, which was just his third game for High-A Lake County, the top pick of the 2024 Draft hit his first professional home run—a grand slam—leading his team to a 17-5 victory over Beloit at Classic Auto Group Park.
Bazzana's initial plate appearances included a strikeout and two walks, but he made his mark in the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, he faced a full count against left-hander Caleb Wurster and then launched a fastball over the right-center field wall.
This grand slam adds to a series of milestones Bazzana has achieved since his debut. On July 26, he recorded his first RBI, followed by his first two hits on July 28. In this latest game, he also notched his first stolen base and scored three runs, finishing 2-for-4 with two walks from the leadoff spot.
The 21-year-old Australian is no stranger to breaking records. During his time at Oregon State, he set records for career home runs (45) and single-season home runs (28).

In game 2, Lake County beat Beloit again by a score of 5-4. The Captains got the win in the bottom of the 8th inning when Tyresse Turner singled to center field scoring Alex Mooney with the game winner.
