🧴Cleopatra’s Beauty Line Redefines Radiance with Eco-Conscious Solutions

Radiance and Responsibility: How Cleopatra’s Beauty Line & EcoPure Essentials Are Redefining Skincare in Mentor
Tucked away in this quiet lakeside town, Cleopatra’s Beauty Line & EcoPure Essentials has been quietly making waves for seven years. Combining ancient beauty traditions with modern eco-consciousness, this dual-brand business is setting a new standard for skincare. With a mission rooted in both personal and planetary wellness, owner Bozana Anicic has turned her passion for purity into a growing enterprise that serves customers seeking radiance without compromise.
Ancient Wisdom, Modern Skincare
At the heart of Cleopatra’s Beauty Line lies an ingredient steeped in history: donkey milk. Renowned for its anti-aging and nourishing properties, this luxurious ingredient is paired with plant-based, chemical-free formulations to create products that hydrate and heal. “Donkey milk was a secret of Cleopatra herself,” says Anicic, referencing the ancient queen’s legendary skincare routine. “But I wanted to modernize that wisdom and make it accessible, combining it with clean, natural ingredients that care for even the most sensitive skin.”
On the other side of the brand, EcoPure Essentials takes an equally innovative approach to sustainability. Specializing in biodegradable, plastic-free hand soaps that are detergent-free, the line has garnered attention for its commitment to reducing environmental harm. With the Great Lakes as a backdrop, EcoPure Essentials embodies a dedication to protecting local waterways through waste-free packaging and eco-friendly formulations.
The Science Behind the Passion
For Anicic, a background in health sciences and years of work at Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital provided the inspiration to start her business. “I saw how many health issues stem from harmful chemicals we’re exposed to every day—often through our skincare products,” she explains. Determined to offer an alternative, she spent years researching ingredients and refining formulations.
Anicic emphasizes that both Cleopatra’s Beauty Line and EcoPure Essentials reflect her belief in the power of nature’s gifts. “Mother Nature provides everything we need for wellness, but over-processing can strip away those benefits and harm us long-term. My goal is to keep things pure, for both people and the planet.”
Sustainability as a Lifestyle
What sets this business apart isn’t just its products but its values. Cleopatra’s Beauty Line stands out for its luxurious formulations that remain free of synthetic chemicals, while EcoPure Essentials fills a niche in the market for sustainable, zero-waste hygiene products. Together, the brands offer a dual value proposition: healthy skin and a healthier environment.
“Our EcoPure hand soaps, for example, don’t just avoid plastic waste—they’re also free of detergents that harm aquatic ecosystems,” Anicic explains. “Every time someone uses our products, they’re making a small but meaningful choice to protect Lake Erie and the planet as a whole.”
This dedication to sustainability resonates with local customers who care about preserving natural resources. While Anicic hasn’t yet partnered with local organizations, the business’s environmental mission aligns closely with Mentor’s proximity to Lake Erie and its role as a Great Lakes community.
Growing Local, Thinking Global
Looking ahead, Cleopatra’s Beauty Line & EcoPure Essentials is poised for growth. The business recently launched free shipping across Lake County and introduced a subscription program offering a 10% discount to loyal customers. “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to access clean, sustainable skincare,” says Anicic.

🪖 Remembering Pearl Harbor: The Test That United a Nation"
Each year, December 7th serves as a solemn reminder of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, a day that shaped the course of American history. While the bravery of those who fought and died that day is rightly honored, the significance of Pearl Harbor extends beyond the events of that morning. Unlike decisive victories often celebrated in history, Pearl Harbor represents a different kind of moment: one where a nation faced a profound challenge and responded with unity and resolve.
Though the attack was a tactical defeat, it wasn’t a strategic disaster. Key elements of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, including aircraft carriers and fuel storage facilities, survived intact. Yet, the day’s real legacy lies not in the damage or losses but in the nation's response. America was put to a pivotal test, forced to decide whether it would retreat into isolation or stand firm against tyranny. The answer came swiftly, with the U.S. rising as a defender of freedom and democracy on a global scale.
Pearl Harbor’s legacy is built on the sacrifices made that day. Ordinary service members performed extraordinary acts of courage amidst chaos and destruction. Sailors fought to save their ships or refused to abandon their posts, even at the cost of their own lives. These stories of heroism, coupled with President Franklin D. Roosevelt's declaration that December 7th would live in infamy, galvanized the nation into action.
The attack also marked a turning point in the ideological clash between totalitarianism and democracy. The U.S. emerged from Pearl Harbor not only as a military force but as a symbol of hope for liberty worldwide. Subsequent victories at Midway, Iwo Jima, and Normandy were the answers to the question Pearl Harbor posed: Would the ideals of freedom endure?
Even today, Pearl Harbor continues to resonate because it reminds Americans of the cost and responsibility of liberty. Like the unresolved question in “The Star-Spangled Banner” that asks if the flag still waves, Pearl Harbor prompts reflection on whether the nation remains committed to its founding ideals. The legacy of that day is a testament to what can be achieved when a country unites for a just cause.

💧 Winter Stormwater Woes: Tips to Protect Local Waterways
Winter Pollution: Protecting Our Waterways During the Freeze
As winter sets in, concerns rise over pollution entering local waterways. Frozen ground loses its natural filtration ability, causing pollutants like litter, salt, and grime to build up in snow and ice. When the snow melts, these contaminants are flushed into stormwater systems, rivers, and Lake Erie, significantly impacting water quality.
To minimize this seasonal pollution, residents are encouraged to take proactive steps:
Use Salt Wisely: Remove as much ice as possible before applying salt sparingly. Sweep up excess salt to prevent runoff.
Opt for Eco-Friendly Alternatives: Use sand for deicing and traction, and ensure it’s swept up after use to avoid washing into drains.
Clean Up Pet Waste: Pick up after pets promptly, as animal waste contributes harmful bacteria to waterways.
Wash Cars Responsibly: Clean vehicles at commercial car washes that drain wastewater to treatment facilities.
Maintain Vehicles Properly: Regularly check for and fix leaks in oils and fluids. Dispose of used motor oil at appropriate service stations.
By adopting these practices, residents can play a vital role in keeping Mentor’s waterways clean throughout the winter. For more tips or to report concerns, contact the City of Mentor Building and Engineering Department at (440) 974-5785 or email [email protected].[email protected].
