⚽ Cleveland in the Race for NWSL Expansion, $150M Stadium Proposed

Greater Cleveland Partnership - Proposed Stadium for NWSL Team
Cleveland is officially in the running for a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) expansion team, one of three cities vying for a spot as the league looks to grow from 12 to 16 teams by 2026. The other finalists include Denver and Cincinnati.
The Cleveland Soccer Group has unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art $150 million stadium, which would be built near Progressive Field. The proposed stadium would seat over 12,000 fans and mark a historic milestone as Ohio’s first venue dedicated solely to professional women’s sports.
If Cleveland secures the expansion team, the move would represent a major boost for women’s sports in the region. The NWSL plans to announce its decision by the end of the year.
