🥫 Mentor Fire Department Marks 30 Years of Giving with Annual Food Drive

The Mentor Fire Department is gearing up for the 30th annual "Rescue the Needy Food Drive," a cherished community tradition that aids families in Lake County. This year’s drive will take place at the northeast entrance of the Great Lakes Mall, near Barnes and Noble. The event runs on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and continues on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or make cash donations, all of which will directly benefit the Salvation Army Painesville Corps. This organization ensures that donations remain within Lake County to support local families. Over the past three decades, the drive has raised more than $175,000 in cash and food contributions, making a significant impact in the community.

The Great Lakes Mall, located at 7850 Mentor Avenue, is a convenient hub for this charitable effort. Firefighters, family members, and volunteers will be on-site to accept donations and make it easy for shoppers and residents to contribute to this vital cause.

🌬️ Brace for Impact: Cold Front Brings High Winds, Snow, and Arctic Chill

A powerful cold front is set to sweep through the region tonight, bringing strong winds, a quick burst of evening snow, and bitterly cold temperatures.
