📢 The Wellness Connection: Harnessing Holistic Healing in Mentor

The Wellness Connection - Mentor, OH

Karen Martin’s Studio Brings Non-Invasive Therapy to Northeast Ohio

MENTOR, Ohio — Inside The Wellness Connection, soft lighting and a welcoming atmosphere set the stage for something unconventional yet increasingly sought after: electromagnetic energy therapy. The small studio, established in 2021 by Karen Martin, offers a specialized pulsed energy treatment aimed at improving circulation and accelerating the body’s natural healing processes.

Martin, who spent years in the home health field before becoming a certified wellness coach, knows firsthand the frustration of chronic pain and limited treatment options. After experiencing the benefits of this therapy herself, she felt compelled to bring it to others in her community.

“I had struggled with my own physical issues,” Martin said. “When I found relief through this holistic approach, I wanted to help others experience the same.”

A Science-Backed Approach to Healing

At the core of The Wellness Connection’s services is pulsed electromagnetic therapy, designed to increase circulation in small blood vessels, which make up about 75% of the circulatory system. The benefits, Martin explains, range from reducing discomfort and swelling to improving sleep, lowering blood pressure, and boosting mental acuity.

“Increasing circulation helps deliver nutrients, oxygen, and immune cells more efficiently while removing waste from the body,” she said. “Clients often come in for one issue and discover improvements in other areas of their health as well.”

For many, the therapy offers a non-invasive alternative to medication or surgery. Athletes use it to shorten recovery times, while others turn to it for relief from chronic pain, sleep disturbances, or post-surgical healing. The best part? The sessions are quick—just eight to sixteen minutes—making them easy to fit into a busy schedule.

A Studio With a Personal Touch

Unlike traditional wellness clinics, The Wellness Connection operates on a flexible, hassle-free membership model. Clients can drop in during open therapy hours without the need for an appointment.

“We get to know our clients personally and help them with all aspects of their health,” Martin said. “It’s about more than just treatment—it’s about connection.”

That personal touch has led to some inspiring success stories. Just this week, Martin recalled, a woman who had completed nine sessions shared that her grandson had noticed her newfound energy.

“‘Wow, Grandma, you want to keep walking? You always stop and say your knees hurt,’” Martin recounted with a smile. “Hearing her excitement that she could keep up with him brought us so much joy.”

An Open Invitation to Explore Wellness

Martin understands that trying a new therapy can feel like a leap of faith. That’s why she offers two complimentary sessions to first-time visitors.

“We want people to experience it for themselves,” she said. “First-time appointments are scheduled outside of our regular studio hours so we can provide a more personal introduction to the therapy.”

Appointments can be booked via phone, email, or through a link on the studio’s website.

With its holistic approach and growing community of wellness-minded individuals, The Wellness Connection is more than a business—it’s a space for healing, discovery, and transformation. And for those who walk through its doors, relief may be just a few pulses away.

Experience the benefits of electromagnetic energy therapy for yourself with two complimentary sessions at The Wellness Connection. Schedule your first appointment outside regular studio hours for a personalized introduction. Call, email, or book online through our website today!

🚶‍♀️ New Sidewalks Coming to Tyler Boulevard to Improve Access in Mentor

City of Mentor

A new sidewalk project is set to improve accessibility along Tyler Boulevard in Mentor, enhancing pedestrian safety in the city’s manufacturing corridor. The initiative was announced by City Manager Kenneth J. Filipiak during his annual State of the City address.

The project will add just over a mile of concrete sidewalk on the south side of Tyler Boulevard, stretching from Heisley Road to Hopkins Road. This improvement will provide safer access for employees and businesses along the busy industrial corridor.

Tyler Boulevard serves as a key roadway in Mentor, linking ten industrial boulevards that are home to more than 300 employers and 7,500 jobs. It ranks as the seventh-largest concentration of manufacturing companies in Ohio.

The $600,000 project is backed in part by a $416,000 grant from Laketran. Currently in the design phase, construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

📰 Quail Hollow Resort Listed for Auction Again, But Owner Fights Sale

The Quail Hollow Resort in Concord Township is up for auction, with bidding set to close on March 11. However, owner GP Hotel Ohio LLC has asked the court to halt the sale, arguing there are no pending claims against the property.

The auction includes the main resort at 11080 Concord-Hambden Road and a 1.44-acre lot nearby. As of March 7, the highest bid was $400,000, below the reserve price.

The legal dispute began in July 2024, when Xpert Restoration LLC sued GP Hotel Ohio over unpaid services. NAR Ohio LLC later claimed tax certificate rights and requested a court-appointed receiver. Judge Jeffrey Ruple assigned Prodigy Properties LLC in January to manage and protect the property.

Since then, Xpert and Servpro withdrew their claims after reported payments. In March, GP Hotel Ohio asked to stop the auction, noting that NAR’s claim remains unapproved and that it only expressed interest in the main property, not the adjacent land.

A 2022-2023 auction attempt was canceled after previous tax payments were settled. Local officials have explored redevelopment options, including housing and light industry. The nearby Quail Hollow Country Club is under separate ownership.

🏒 Mentor’s Dream Season Ends in State Semifinals Against Upper Arlington

Mentor's unforgettable hockey season came to a close Saturday as Upper Arlington staged a dominant comeback to win 7-2 in the OHSAA semifinals at Nationwide Arena.

Despite making their first-ever final four appearance and jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead in the opening minute, the Cardinals couldn’t sustain their momentum. Upper Arlington responded with seven unanswered goals, securing their spot in the state championship game for the first time in school history.

Mentor, which finished the season 24-10-2, had already rewritten the program’s history books by claiming their first Kent Regional title. The early success against Upper Arlington, with goals from Jake and Joe Mackey in the first 57 seconds, seemed to put the Cardinals in position for another milestone.

However, Upper Arlington regrouped quickly, scoring four times in the first period to take control. The Bears continued their relentless attack, outshooting Mentor 51-17, and added three more goals in the second to seal the win.

Though the loss was tough, Mentor’s coaching staff and players remained proud of their season, viewing this run as a stepping stone for the program’s future. Upper Arlington (28-6-2) will now face defending champion St. Ignatius in Sunday’s state final.
