đŸ„Ž Today: 2025 Njoku Celebrity Game Roster Features Haden, Cribbs, Flacco & More

The Lake County Captains have revealed the roster for the highly anticipated 2025 David Njoku Celebrity Softball Game, scheduled for TODAY, Thursday, June 19 at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake. Presented by DTLR and powered by Clear Vision, the event will once again blend sports and entertainment in a fan-favorite summer tradition.

Hosted by Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku, the celebrity-filled evening will feature current Browns players, former NFL stars, and special guests from the wrestling world.

Among the headline participants is former Browns cornerback Joe Haden, returning to the Eastlake field where he previously hosted his own celebrity games. Haden, a 2010 first-round draft pick, earned back-to-back Pro Bowl honors in 2013 and 2014 and was named Second Team All-Pro in 2013.

Joining him is Browns legend Josh Cribbs, the electrifying return specialist and wide receiver who became a fan favorite in Cleveland. A three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, Cribbs was named to the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade Team and holds 11 career return touchdowns.

Current Browns quarterbacks Joe Flacco and Shedeur Sanders will also take part. Flacco, the 2023 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, guided Cleveland to the playoffs after a late-season signing. He previously led the Ravens to a Super Bowl XLVII victory, earning MVP honors. Sanders, a 2025 fifth-round draft pick, comes to Cleveland after a standout college career at Colorado, where he was named a 2024 All-American and won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

The game will also feature appearances from two local WWE personalities. Johnny Gargano, a St. Edward High School graduate and WWE SmackDown star, returns after playing in last year’s event. Joining him is Vic Joseph, a Revere High School alum and current NXT Play-by-Play Commentator with a long-running presence on WWE broadcasts.

With more names expected to be added, the 2025 edition of the Celebrity Softball Game promises an exciting blend of gridiron talent and local pride under the summer lights in Eastlake.

🐕 How to Tell If Your Dog Is Truly Happy: A Guide to Canine Contentment

How to Tell If Your Dog Is Truly Happy

Understanding a dog’s emotional state can be tricky, especially since dogs express feelings in their own unique ways. While science has only begun to scratch the surface of canine happiness, several clear behaviors can signal that your furry companion is feeling content and joyful. The key lies in knowing your dog’s individual personality and paying attention to their everyday behaviors.

Facial Cues and Body Language

One of the first signs of a happy dog is a relaxed expression. Dogs often display a soft gaze with open eyes and frequent blinking. Their mouths may be open slightly, with their tongue hanging out, almost like a smile. Unlike aggressive snarls, this open-mouthed look is peaceful and relaxed. A calm demeanor paired with this look typically means your dog is feeling great.

Tail Talk

The tail is another major emotional barometer. A happy dog’s tail usually moves in slow, wide wags and sits in a neutral or slightly raised position. Unlike quick, stiff wags (a sign of agitation or aggression), these fluid movements reflect a sense of well-being—especially when combined with other relaxed body cues.

Walks and Playfulness

Happy dogs show enthusiasm during walks through a bouncy, loose stride. They’ll often sniff, engage with their surroundings, and respond well to friendly encounters. When at play, many dogs assume a “play bow” position—front legs down, rear in the air—to signal their excitement and eagerness to interact. Some dogs take this joy even further with “zoomies,” those sudden bursts of running energy that show excitement and elation.

Joy in Everyday Life

Beyond movement, content dogs often exhibit other clear signs of happiness. These include nudging you for affection, lying close for cuddles, or engaging in a goofy “happy dance” with a full-body wiggle. A good appetite and a willingness to engage in training or obey commands also suggest emotional well-being. Plus, happy dogs are generally well-behaved, though occasional mischief—especially in puppies—is normal and not necessarily a sign of distress.

Social Comfort and Independence

A sociable dog that enjoys the company of people or other dogs is often a happy one. However, some breeds prefer solitude, and that’s perfectly fine. What matters is the dog’s behavior within their natural temperament. A typically sociable dog withdrawing or showing disinterest in interaction may warrant concern, but an independent dog who is relaxed and eating well is likely just enjoying their personal space.

Sleep and Recovery

Sleep is vital for canine health and happiness. Dogs need about 12 hours of sleep each day, and adequate rest supports their immune system, cognitive function, and emotional stability. A happy, well-rested dog will be more playful and engaged throughout the day.

How to Boost Your Dog’s Happiness

To foster happiness in your pet, offer them freedom to make choices—whether that’s picking a toy or deciding when to rest. Quality time, physical affection, and the occasional indulgence go a long way. Most importantly, pay attention to your dog’s cues. They may not understand words like “I love you,” but your attention, respect, and care will communicate it all the same.

⚟ Guardians Top Giants as Schneeman’s Homer Breaks Game Open

Daniel Schneeman launched a three-run home run to lead the Cleveland Guardians past the San Francisco Giants, 4-2, on Wednesday night, keeping Justin Verlander winless with his new team. Verlander, making his first start since May 18 after returning from the Injured List, allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings, striking out six. Schneeman’s homer in the fourth inning followed a fielding error and a single, breaking the game open.

Kyle Manzardo doubled twice and JosĂ© RamĂrez added an RBI single to boost Cleveland's offense. The win marked the Guardians’ first series victory in San Francisco since 2005.

Logan Allen picked up the win, allowing two runs over 5 1/3 innings. Cleveland’s bullpen shut things down from there, with Emmanuel Clase earning his 16th save.

Despite getting the leadoff man aboard in four innings, the Giants failed to score each time. Heliot Ramos hit a solo homer for San Francisco’s only real highlight. The series concludes Thursday with Logan Webb set to face Gavin Williams.

⚟ Captains Drop 4–2 Decision to Cubs After Early Lead

Captains Fall 4–2 to South Bend Cubs Despite Solid Bullpen Effort

The Lake County Captains couldn’t overcome an early deficit and dropped a 4–2 decision to the South Bend Cubs on Tuesday night. Starter Caden Favors allowed six hits and four earned runs over four innings, bringing his record to 2–5.

Lake County took a 1–0 lead in the third when Christian Knapczyk doubled home a run. They extended it to 2–1 later that inning, but South Bend took control in the fifth with a three-run surge. Hits from James Triantos, Jefferson Rojas, and Cameron Sisneros fueled the rally and gave the Cubs a 4–2 lead.

The Captains’ bullpen held South Bend scoreless the rest of the way, but the offense couldn’t close the gap. A double play in the second inning and key strikeouts stalled any comeback attempts.
