City of Mentor
The City of Mentor saw its unemployment rate rise by 0.5 percentage points in May 2025, reaching 4.2%. This marks an increase from 3.5% in May 2024. 📌 Where Beauty Meets Balance: JLUXE Aesthetic Wellness Is Redefining Self-Care in Lake County and Beyond!

With a deep-rooted philosophy that blends science, wellness, and compassion, this woman-led medspa is helping Northeast Ohio look—and feel—its best.
The scent of lavender drifts through the sunlit reception area at JLUXE Aesthetic Wellness, where soft music hums beneath the welcoming conversation between practitioner and client. Tucked discreetly inside a suite at 4212 State Route 306, JLUXE is more than a medspa—it’s a sanctuary where outer beauty is nurtured through inner wellness, and vice versa.
Founded in 2021, JLUXE is the brainchild of a surgical nurse turned aesthetic visionary. After years in operating rooms assisting a plastics team, the owner saw how cosmetic procedures could do more than reshape appearances—they reshaped lives. “The confidence that came from those transformations wasn’t superficial,” she says. “It radiated through people’s relationships, careers, and self-worth.”
That insight led her down an unconventional path, nearly pursuing a Ph.D. at Case Western to study the psychology behind elective cosmetic procedures. But instead of continuing in academia, she brought that research-minded heart into a new venture—one that would eventually evolve into JLUXE.
From Operating Room to Wellness Room
The name JLUXE captures the essence of its mission: a luxurious yet grounded approach to aesthetic wellness. But the practice is anything but surface-level. The founder’s training in Integrative Medicine at University Hospitals/Lake Health unlocked a deeper understanding of the body’s innate healing systems. “I began to see beauty not just as something applied to the skin, but something that reflects health, vitality, and internal balance,” she says.
This belief laid the foundation for JLUXE’s integrative model: blending advanced cosmetic procedures—like RF microneedling, fillers, and neurotoxins—with functional medicine solutions such as peptide therapy, weight loss management, and Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). Clients don’t just leave looking refreshed—they feel recharged.
A Standout Service with Staying Power
Among JLUXE’s most sought-after offerings is Morpheus, a cutting-edge treatment few local spas provide. Combining radio-frequency microneedling with fat reduction capabilities, it’s lauded for its ability to tighten skin while sculpting stubborn areas like the jawline, abdomen, and thighs.
“It’s a game-changer,” the owner says. “What makes it so powerful is that we’re not just targeting wrinkles or sagging skin—we’re addressing the root causes with personalized treatment plans.”
A Community Built on Trust
In an era dominated by fast-paced, transactional medspas, JLUXE stands out with a more deliberate, relationship-focused approach. The practice has built a strong reputation in Lake County—and increasingly beyond—for providing authentic, personalized care. Upselling isn’t part of the business model; listening is.
“It’s about meeting people where they are,” she explains. “We spend time understanding their goals and health concerns, then guide them toward options that truly fit their lives.”
The impact is visible—not just in glowing skin, but in client loyalty. Many return not only for treatments but for the sense of community JLUXE fosters. “We’ve become part of people’s wellness routines, their milestones. It’s deeply personal.”
Family First, Always
Balancing life as a mother of four and entrepreneur isn’t easy, but the JLUXE founder sees it as her greatest success. “My children see that you can pursue your passion while staying grounded in love, ethics, and purpose,” she says. “That balance is what JLUXE represents.”
Her husband and kids are active cheerleaders for the business, often stopping by to offer support or help behind the scenes. That spirit of unity is reflected in every corner of JLUXE’s practice—from its staff culture to its loyal clientele.
Looking Ahead
As JLUXE continues to grow, so does its ambition. Plans for expanded wellness services, community partnerships, and educational events are on the horizon. The mission? To be a trusted hub for both aesthetic care and whole-body wellness in Northeast Ohio.
“We want to empower even more people to feel radiant—not just because of how they look, but because of how they live,” she says.
In a world where beauty often feels curated and filtered, JLUXE Aesthetic Wellness offers something refreshingly real: expert care, deep integrity, and a vision that puts well-being at the center of it all.

🧠 Exercise Builds a Stronger Brain as Well as a Stronger Body
Exercise is well known for its physical benefits—strengthening muscles, supporting heart health, controlling weight, and preventing chronic illnesses like diabetes. But it also plays a vital role in brain health.
Studies show that people who engage in regular, moderate-intensity exercise tend to have larger brain volumes in areas related to memory and thinking. These changes typically appear after six months to a year of consistent physical activity. Exercise also indirectly supports brain function by improving mood, sleep, and reducing stress—factors that often contribute to cognitive decline.
Most research has focused on walking, but experts believe other aerobic exercises that raise heart rate likely offer similar benefits. Tai chi, which combines slow, intentional movement with mental focus, has been shown to improve executive function in older adults. The practice engages both body and mind, possibly explaining its cognitive impact.
To get the most from exercise, it should become a daily habit. Experts recommend starting small and gradually working up to 150 minutes per week of moderate activity. While cognitive benefits take time to appear, staying consistent can help preserve mental sharpness well into later life.

⚾ Springer’s Grand Slam Lifts Blue Jays Over Guardians in 10-6 Victory
George Springer’s eighth-inning grand slam powered the Toronto Blue Jays to a 10-6 win over the Guardians on Tuesday night. Springer, who went 3 for 5 with three runs, helped cap a 14-hit game for Toronto.
Starter Eric Lauer allowed just one run over 5 1/3 innings, striking out five and extending his win streak to three games. The Blue Jays led early with RBI hits from Alejandro Kirk and a two-run single by Jonatan Clase.
Cleveland closed the gap with a three-run homer by Lane Thomas and a solo shot from Kyle Manzardo, but the comeback fell short. Guardians starter Logan Allen gave up four runs (three earned) in 5 2/3 innings. A key moment came in the fourth when Lauer stranded two runners to preserve the lead.
