Held at 7865 Plains Road, this community event brings together local artisans, small businesses, and summer enthusiasts for a festive day of browsing and buying. šæ Look Up! Cleveland (and Mentor) Stars in the New Superman Movie

Superman
The new Superman movie is more than just a summer blockbusterāitās a showcase of Northeast Ohio, with scenes filmed right here in Mentor and throughout Cleveland. Movie trailers reveal familiar landmarks like Public Square, Progressive Field, and The Arcade, transformed into parts of Supermanās world. Notably, Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor was also used during filming, putting our own backyard on the big screen. While the Glenville homes of Supermanās creators donāt appear in the trailer, local fans can take pride in knowing our region played a key role in bringing the superheroās story to life.

š° New Q2 Data: Mentorās Industrial Sector Stable with 2.1% Vacancy Rate
While industrial vacancy rates across Greater Cleveland rose slightly in Q2 2025, Mentor and Lake County continued to show market stability, according to the latest CoStar report prepared by the City of Mentorās Planning & Development Department.
Covering 454 million square feet of industrial space across eight Northeast Ohio counties, the regionās vacancy rate rose to 4.2%, up from 3.5% in Q1 and 3.4% year-over-year.
In contrast, Lake County, with approximately 40 million square feet across 1,343 buildings, maintained a low 2.2% vacancy rate, unchanged from Q1 and slightly lower than last yearās 2.3%.
Mentor, which represents 36% of Lake Countyās industrial marketāroughly 14 million square feetāreported a 2.1% vacancy rate, down from 2.2% in Q1 but up from 1.3% a year earlier. Around 190,000 square feet in the city is currently available.
Despite regional increases, Mentor continues to offer a solid industrial environment with competitive vacancy rates and multiple large space options.

š¦ Lake County Releases Updated Mosquito Treatment Schedule for July 14ā17
The Lake County General Health District (LCGHD) has released an updated mosquito treatment schedule for the week of July 14, 2025, aiming to reduce the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses and enhance outdoor comfort during the summer months.
Mosquito control efforts are focused on densely populated areas throughout the county. Treatments are conducted by licensed professionals using approved pesticides and are contingent on weather conditions. The current schedule includes the following municipalities:
Monday, July 14: Willowick, Concord 15A
Tuesday, July 15: Concord 15B
Wednesday, July 16: Willoughby Hills
Thursday, July 17: Eastlake 8B
Residents are encouraged to stay informed through the 24-hour treatment hotline at (440) 350-2088 or (440) 918-2088. For general questions, LCGHD offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and can be reached at (440) 350-2543 or (440) 918-2543.

If you're a Clevelander looking for a breezy summer getaway that blends natural beauty, fresh seafood, and small-town charm, Maine should top your list. With its rocky coastline, welcoming towns, and laid-back pace, itās a New England escape that feels both adventurous and familiar.
Where to Stay
Start by picking your home base. Each town offers a different flavor of Maine:
Ogunquit is a postcard-perfect beach town, ideal for families and couples. Walk the scenic Marginal Way for sweeping ocean views, then grab pizza and craft beer at Cornerstone. Anchorage by the Sea offers seaside comfort with fire pits and lawn chairs made for sunset watching.
Portland, Maineās largest city, has a lively arts and food scene without big-city fuss. Stroll the cobblestone streets of the Old Port, hop on a harbor cruise, and dine at Central Provisions for creative American fare. Stay at The Press Hotel, a former newspaper building turned boutique hotel with striking design.

What to Do
Maine is made for day trips. From Ogunquit, explore Yorkās famous lighthouse or browse Kennebunkportās shops. From Portland, hit the beach at Old Orchard or explore Cape Elizabethās scenic shores. If youāre staying near Damariscotta, visit Rockland or Camden for arts, harbor views, and good eats.
Acadia National Park, about 2.5 hours north of Damariscotta, is well worth the drive. The Park Loop Road gives you a one-day glimpse of this coastal gemābut go early to avoid crowds.
Where to Eat
Maineās coastal cuisine centers around lobster rolls, oysters, and fried seafood. For an authentic experience, head to Barnacle Billyās in Ogunquit or Cape Neddick Lobster Pound in York. Want to cook your own? Harbor Fish Market in Portland offers everything from fresh fillets to seafood-ready marinades.
Getting There
Fly into Boston for cheaper fares or Portland for convenience. To truly explore beyond the city, a rental car is essential. But if you stay in Portland, you can get by on foot and rideshare apps.
From lighthouses to lobster rolls, summer in Maine is pure New England magicājust a flight and a few hours from Cleveland.

šØ Florida Arrest: Browns Rookie Judkins Held on Domestic Violence Allegation
Cleveland Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins was arrested July 12 in Fort Lauderdale on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. He remains in custody. The Browns have not commented.

ā¾ Guardians Top White Sox as Kwan Drives in Two, Bibee Earns First Win Since May
The Cleveland Guardians extended their strong run with a 6ā2 victory over the Chicago White Sox Saturday night, led by Kyle Manzardoās go-ahead homer and a multi-RBI game from Steven Kwan.
Manzardo broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth with a solo shot off Jordan Leasure, helping Tanner Bibee earn his first win since May. Kwan followed with a sacrifice fly in the seventh and an RBI single in the ninth. JosƩ Ramirez added another run as Cleveland pulled away late.
Bibee allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings, and the bullpen was perfect, with Sabrowski, Smith, and Festa combining to finish the game.
Cleveland opened the scoring with a Carlos Santana RBI single in the first and added another run on Angel Martinezās sac fly in the fourth. Chicago tied it in the bottom half but failed to score again.
A key moment came in the fifth when Bibee escaped a jam with a strikeout and double play after four straight singles. Ramirez contributed a walk, steal, and RBI in the win.
The Guardians have now won five of their last six heading into the All-Star break.

ā¾ Devers, Hartle Lead Captains to 8ā5 Victory Over West Michigan
The Lake County Captains defeated the West Michigan Whitecaps 8ā5 on Saturday night, powered by strong early offense and a dominant outing from Josh Hartle.
Hartle improved to 6ā2, pitching five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts, three hits, and three walks. Though the bullpen allowed five runs in the seventh, Jack Jasiak came on to record his eighth save, shutting down West Michiganās comeback attempt.
Offensively, Lake County racked up 14 hits. Jose Devers had a monster game, launching a three-run homer in the first and driving in two more with a single in the seventh. He finished with five RBIs.
Juan Benjamin added an RBI double in the second, and Kevin Rivas chipped in with a run-scoring single during a five-run seventh that extended the Captainsā lead to 8ā0.
The Whitecaps responded in the bottom of the seventh with five runs, highlighted by Austin Murrās three-run double and an RBI single from Peyton Graham, but couldnāt complete the rally.
