🚨 U.S. Marshals Nab Robbery and Weapons Suspects in Morning Traffic Stop

Two men with outstanding arrest warrants were taken into custody in Mentor on Wednesday morning after a vehicle stop led by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

📰 Seven-Year-Old Kane Zorichak Brings Ohio Pride to the Great American Mullet Championship

Kane “HurriKane” Zorichak

Mentor, Ohio, has a rising star in one of the nation’s most unique competitions — the Great American Mullet Championship. Seven-year-old Kane Zorichak, better known by his mullet’s stage name, “HurriKane,” is turning heads with his bold, curly-front, wild-back hairstyle and equally fearless personality.

Kane isn’t just in it for the glory — the contest supports Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, an organization providing mortgage-free homes to veterans. Every donation helps the cause while boosting contestants toward the coveted title.

In Kane’s case, winning means more than bragging rights. Between his time on the wrestling mat, the football field, and the baseball diamond, he’s working on becoming the youngest-ever champion in the competition’s Kids category — and maybe even starting his own line of hair gel for kids one day.

When imagining his mullet on vacation, Kane pictures a family trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. If his hair had a soundtrack, it would be rocking out to “We’re Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister, preferably while driving a monster truck.

With a $10,000 prize, nationwide bragging rights, and a cause that matters, Kane is calling on his hometown and beyond to rally behind him as he aims to claim the crown as America’s top young mullet.

🎵🎵 Small Town Revolution Brings Country Energy to Concord Tonight!

Northwest Pennsylvania’s own Small Town Revolution is set to bring its high-energy country sound to the Redhawk Bar and Grill in Concord, Ohio, this Friday, August 8, from 8 to 11 p.m.

Hailing from the Erie area, this six-piece band delivers a mix of modern and classic country hits, covering favorites from Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, and Reba. Known for their rich harmonies, the group excels at duets and three-part vocals on songs by Lady A and Little Big Town, with a strong focus on quality and sound.

Small Town Revolution has built an impressive resume, sharing the stage with national acts including Chris Cagle, James Otto, Confederate Railroad, Sawyer Brown, and Trailer Choir. Fans can expect a night of lively tunes, heartfelt ballads, and the kind of authentic country performance that keeps audiences coming back.

⚾ Captains Ride Early Power to 7–5 Win Over Dragons

The Lake County Captains bounced back from a tough loss on Wednesday night with a hard-fought 7–5 victory over the Dayton Dragons on Thursday.

Coming off a 7–1 defeat where a late bullpen collapse proved costly, the Captains were determined to even the series. Thursday’s game opened with a bang when Christian Knapczyk launched a solo home run to right field in the first inning. Dayton responded quickly with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead.

Jacob Cozart helped turn the tide, tying the game in the second with a solo homer, then adding an RBI double in the third that put Lake County back ahead. Ryan Cesarini followed with a run-scoring single, extending the lead to 4–2.

The Captains padded their advantage in the sixth when Nick Mitchell reached on a fielder’s choice that brought in two runs, aided by a Dayton fielding error. Jose Devers then singled home another run to make it 7–2.

On the mound, starter Jackson Humphries gave the Captains a solid four innings, allowing just two runs on two hits while striking out four. Dwayne Matos was sharp in relief, surrendering just one run over four innings to earn his third win of the season. Tyler Naquin closed the game but allowed two runs in the ninth before securing the final outs.

Dayton made things interesting late, scoring once in the eighth and twice in the ninth, but Lake County held on to seal the win and even the series at one game apiece.
