Fatal Crash on I-90 in Mentor Claims Life of Elderly Driver, Injures Two

A serious crash on I-90 East in Mentor caused significant traffic delays Wednesday afternoon and resulted in one fatality and two injuries, according to the Mentor Police Department.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene near State Route 306 around 3:30 p.m. The crash involved multiple vehicles and led to the closure of eastbound lanes for several hours.

⚾ Guardians Rally Twice to Beat Marlins, Close Wild-Card Gap

RamĆrez Sparks Guardians’ Rally

The Cleveland Guardians overcame two early deficits Thursday night, defeating the Miami Marlins 9–4 at Progressive Field and inching closer to an American League wild-card spot.

JosƩ Ramƭrez led the charge with three hits and three runs scored, moving past Kenny Lofton into third place in franchise history with 977 runs. The veteran has spent his entire 13-year career with Cleveland. Gabriel Arias contributed two RBIs, including a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.

Cleveland trailed 3–0 in the first after Miami scored on an Augustin RamĆrez RBI single and a dropped throw at the plate that allowed two more runs to score. The Guardians answered back, eventually taking the lead for good in the fifth at 5–4. They put the game away with a four-run seventh inning, highlighted by RBI singles from David Fry and Brayan Rocchio.

Tanner Bibee earned his fifth straight win, improving to 9–9 after pitching 5 2/3 innings and allowing four runs, only two of them earned. Cade Smith recorded the final out with the bases loaded in the ninth for his sixth save.
