🚨 Massage Parlor Raided in Mentor-on-the-Lake Amid Human Trafficking Probe

Suspected Illicit Activity at Mentor-on-the-Lake Massage Spa Triggers Raid by Task Force

Authorities executed a search warrant at The Dragon Spa in Mentor-on-the-Lake on Thursday, seizing business documents, financial records, and thousands of dollars in cash amid suspicions the establishment was operating as a front for sexual services.

The action, led by the Northeast Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force in coordination with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, took place at the massage parlor located in the 5900 block of Andrews Road. Officials say the raid is part of a broader effort to dismantle illicit massage businesses believed to be involved in commercial sex operations.

During the search, multiple individuals working at the spa were identified and offered access to social support services. Investigators also searched a nearby private residence, though further details about that location were not released.

The Dragon Spa is the latest target in a string of recent operations across Northeast Ohio aimed at combating human trafficking and shutting down illegal businesses. Over the past few months, similar raids have taken place at spas in Lorain and Cuyahoga counties, with three establishments searched in the Cleveland area alone as part of Operation Next Door, a statewide anti-trafficking initiative.

Officials emphasize that the investigation is still active, and community members are encouraged to report any relevant information to the task force tip line at 216-443-6085.

🏈 Mentor Pulls Off Stunning Comeback to Stay Undefeated

Mentor Edges Canton McKinley in Final Seconds to Advance in Playoffs

In one of the most dramatic finishes of the high school football season, Mentor rallied in the final seconds to defeat Canton McKinley, 25-24, in the Division I Region 1 semifinal on Nov. 14 at Jerome T. Osborne Stadium.

Missing standout running back Jackson Farley, Mentor leaned on quarterback Brogan Jones, wide receiver Justen Hodge, and a gritty defense to stay unbeaten at 12-0. After trailing 24-17 with under two minutes to play, Jones led a clutch scoring drive, capping it with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Hodge with just 20 seconds remaining.

Opting for the win, not overtime, the Cardinals called a two-point conversion that fooled the McKinley defense. Jones kept the ball and ran it in to give Mentor its first lead of the game. McKinley’s final possession ended with an interception by linebacker Carson Wolk, securing the Cardinals’ spot in the regional final.

The win sets up a much-anticipated showdown with No. 1 St. Edward next week. The game site has yet to be announced.

Mentor overcame a sluggish first half where they trailed 9-3 and were held to under 60 total yards. The second half saw a momentum swing with touchdowns from Jaxson Callahan and Phelan Harrold. Still, McKinley answered with a defensive touchdown and a late rushing score by Kyelin West.

But it was Mentor’s resilience in the final seconds that proved decisive.

🏈 Glenville Defeats Lake Catholic 14-3 in Division IV Semifinal

Glenville Advances with Second-Half Surge Over Lake Catholic

In a tightly contested Division IV Region 13 semifinal on Nov. 14, Glenville overcame a sluggish start to defeat Lake Catholic, 14-3, at Euclid Community Stadium.

Lake Catholic’s defense dominated early, holding Glenville to just 36 yards and one first down in the first half. A 38-yard field goal by Gavyn Fredriks gave the Cougars a 3-0 halftime lead, capping a 16-play drive that lasted over nine minutes.

But the second half belonged to the Tarblooders.

Glenville came out strong with a 21-yard run by Chris Newell on the opening play, followed by a quick touchdown from Romell Phillips. That drive shifted the momentum, and the Tarblooders began to find consistent gains on the ground.

Lake Catholic had a promising red-zone drive stalled by an interception from Glenville’s Kaylon Bailey. In the fourth quarter, Da’von McDougle delivered the knockout blow with a 65-yard touchdown run, sealing the win.

Glenville’s defense, led by Bailey’s three sacks and interception, held firm as Lake Catholic tried to rally.

The win sets up a regional final rematch between Glenville (9-3) and top-seeded Perry (10-2) on Nov. 21, with the winner advancing to the state semifinals.

Thank you to the Cougars for another great season of exciting football!!
