🎅🏻 Step Into the Season: Holiday Open House at Mentor's Wildwood Cultural Center

Wildwood Cultural Center
Wildwood Manor Opens Its Doors for Festive Holiday Tours
The holiday spirit is in full swing at the Wildwood Cultural Center in Mentor, where residents and visitors are invited to step back in time during the center’s Holiday Historical Tours and Open House.
This annual tradition transforms the elegant English Tudor-style manor into a Christmas wonderland, featuring festive decorations across all four floors of the historic home. Guests can choose to take a guided tour to learn about the manor’s rich history or explore the building at their own pace.
The experience includes a holiday-themed scavenger hunt to locate full-sized Christmas trees scattered throughout the house. Families can enjoy the charming O-gauge train display in the lower-level Craft Room, and kids can pen a last-minute letter to Santa. Warm refreshments, including cookies and hot chocolate, add a cozy touch to the visit.
The event is free for both Mentor residents and nonresidents, though advance registration is required. Visitors can sign up by calling the Wildwood Cultural Center at 440-974-5735 or registering through the City of Mentor's website.

🎄 Mentor Funeral Home Honors 350 Lives at Annual Tree of Remembrance
Mentor Funeral Home Hosts 35th Annual Tree of Remembrance Ceremony
A heartfelt tradition continued in Mentor this past Sunday as Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center held its 35th Annual Tree of Remembrance Memorial Service.
The yearly event offers families a space to honor the memory of loved ones during the holiday season. A specially decorated tree takes center stage, adorned with ornaments personalized with the names of those who passed away in the last year.
During the service, family members and friends placed the ornaments on the tree, and each of the 350 names was read aloud—an emotional moment that brings comfort to many in attendance.
All staff members from the funeral home were present at the service, providing support and connection to the community members they’ve helped throughout the year. The gathering served as both a memorial and a reminder of the enduring bonds that remain even in loss.

If you have moved, you could save on car insurance
Did you move recently? Car insurance rules vary widely from state to state. Minimum liability requirements in one state may be far below what’s required in another. A best practice is to compare coverage limits and shop around for quotes whenever you move, rather than just updating your old policy. Check out Money’s car insurance tool to review coverage in your new place and see if you could save.

🏀 Donovan Mitchell’s 24-Point Fourth Lifts Cavaliers Over Wizards
Mitchell's Fourth-Quarter Explosion Lifts Cavaliers to Stunning Comeback
Donovan Mitchell put on a spectacular show Friday night, scoring 24 of his game-high 48 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a thrilling 130–126 comeback win over the Washington Wizards.
The Cavaliers overcame a 15-point deficit in the final quarter after trailing by as many as 17 earlier in the game. Despite a cold night from beyond the arc—Cleveland went just 15-for-53 on three-pointers, with Darius Garland missing all 11 of his attempts—Mitchell came through when it mattered most.
He tied the game at 122 with a clutch three-pointer, then gave the Cavs the lead for good with a drive to the basket in the final minute. With Cleveland ahead 124–122, Washington’s Marvin Bagley III grabbed an offensive rebound, but Mitchell forced a jump ball. Though Bagley had a significant size advantage, both players mistimed their jumps, and Lonzo Ball recovered the ball for Cleveland before sinking two free throws.
Mitchell capped the win with a driving layup with 5.9 seconds left, sealing a dramatic victory.
Cleveland’s offense was erratic throughout the night. The team launched 34 three-pointers in the first half alone but managed to hold a 62–60 lead at halftime. The third quarter proved disastrous, highlighted by Ball’s missed breakaway layup and Nae'Quan Tomlin fouling out in just over 10 minutes of action.
Washington entered the final period with a 100–85 lead. Mitchell erupted early in the fourth, scoring 11 points in just over two minutes to quickly cut the deficit. Though briefly sidelined by a technical foul, he returned to finish what he started.
