šŸ„› Clark Griswold Would Approve: This Eggnog Is a Christmas Must

Clark Griswold–Approved: The Ultimate Homemade Eggnog for the Holidays

If there’s one drink that embodies the spirit of Christmas, it’s eggnog — and we’re pretty sure Clark Griswold would raise a glass (or two) of this homemade version with pride. Inspired by National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, this rich, creamy classic is swirled with warm nutmeg, smooth vanilla, and just the right touch of sweetness to make it a must-have at any holiday gathering.

A staple of seasonal sips, eggnog sits comfortably alongside other festive favorites like hot buttered rum and spiced apple cider. But when made from scratch, it rises to a new level of decadence. This custard-based drink is thick, velvety, and bursting with nostalgic flavor — the kind that brings guests back for seconds.

šŸ„£ This Home Alone–Inspired Mac and Cheese Is Pure Holiday Comfort

Macaroni and Cheese Worthy of Kevin McCallister’s Holiday Feast

In Home Alone, young Kevin McCallister famously sits down to a microwavable macaroni and cheese dinner — only to be interrupted by some unexpected holiday visitors. While his boxed version never got eaten, we like to imagine he’d be thrilled with this grown-up twist on the classic comfort food.

This baked mac and cheese is rich, golden, and bubbling with creamy goodness. A silky cheese sauce coats every bite of tender pasta, while a buttery, golden crumb topping adds the perfect crunch. It’s a far cry from the microwave tray, but still packed with all the cozy satisfaction Kevin — and just about everyone else — would crave.

Serve it as a hearty weeknight dinner or elevate your holiday table with this crowd-pleasing side dish. It’s a nostalgic nod to the '90s favorite, made for a new generation of comfort food lovers.

šŸ€ Garland Scores 35, But Cavaliers Collapse Late in Loss to Bulls

Despite a season-high 35 points from Darius Garland and a valiant effort from several young contributors, the Cleveland Cavaliers couldn’t hold on in the fourth quarter, falling 136-125 to the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.

Missing key starters Donovan Mitchell (illness) and Evan Mobley (calf injury), the Cavaliers put up a strong fight behind Garland’s scoring burst and a standout performance from rookie guard Tyrese Proctor, who posted 16 points in his first NBA start. Nae’Qwan Tomlin added 15 off the bench, and Jarrett Allen was active in the paint during Cleveland’s third-quarter rally.

After trailing by 14 early in the third, the Cavs surged back with a 27-9 run sparked by Allen and Garland, eventually tying the game at 115 midway through the fourth. But the Bulls responded with a 17-8 burst, led by Nikola Vucevic, who scored 11 of his 24 points in the final quarter and finished with 15 rebounds. Matas Buzelis also added 24 for Chicago.

Cleveland had opened the game with an 11-0 run, but momentum quickly shifted after a three-point play and a flagrant foul helped Chicago get back in it. The Cavaliers have now dropped three straight games and five of their last six at home.

šŸ¤¼ā€ā™‚ļø Mentor Wrestling Triumphs in Night of Tribute for Lucas McGee

Mentor’s 'Pin for a Purpose' Honors Lucas McGee with Wrestling, Remembrance

On December 19, Mentor High School hosted Pin for a Purpose, a wrestling event dedicated to the memory of Lucas McGee, a freshman who passed away in October due to a heart condition. The event brought together the Mentor and Harvey girls teams, and the Mentor and Riverside boys teams, in an evening that was about far more than competition.

The night served as a fundraiser for McGee’s family, with proceeds from T-shirts, raffles, and baked goods supporting them. The family attended the event, seated in the front row of the Performing Arts Center.

Mentor’s boys secured a 44-30 win over Riverside in a hard-fought match. Key victories came from freshmen Mason Noga and JJ Hoynes early on, followed by strong performances from Isaac Opatrny, Grant Kilfoyle, Colton Pollock, and Xander Jones. A dramatic late win by Santino Stark at 190 pounds clinched the team win before the final two matches.

Earlier, Mentor’s girls team defeated Harvey, 48-36. The evening also featured junior high and JV matches, emphasizing the community-wide support and spirit surrounding the event.

While victories were celebrated, the true purpose of the night was honoring McGee’s memory and uniting the community in support of his family.
