Preparing For Surgery? Don’t Ignore Recovery
Most people spend weeks preparing for surgery itself — but very little time preparing for recovery afterward.
The healing process places major nutritional demands on the body, increasing the need for nutrients involved in tissue repair, immune support, collagen formation, and recovery.
HealFast was physician-formulated specifically for pre- and post-surgery nutritional support with targeted vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, and recovery-focused nutrients designed for the healing process.
If you have an upcoming procedure or are currently recovering, recovery nutrition may be one of the most overlooked parts of the process.

💸 Mentor Schools Advance Smaller Levy Proposal for November Ballot
MENTOR, Ohio — The Mentor School Board has approved the first of two resolutions needed to place a new operating levy before voters in November.
Board members voted 4-1 at their June 9 meeting to advance a proposed five-year, 3.5-mill levy, with a second and final vote scheduled for July. According to district officials, the levy would generate approximately $9.6 million annually and cost property owners about $123 per year for every $100,000 of home value.
District leaders said the plan would include either $3.5 million in spending reductions or implementation of a consolidation strategy expected to save at least $3.3 million each year.
The proposal comes after voters rejected a five-year, 4.9-mill levy during the May primary election. That measure would have raised $13.5 million annually and failed by a vote of 8,256 to 7,039.
In other business, the board also voted 4-1 to join an ongoing lawsuit challenging Ohio's private school voucher program. The case, involving more than 300 public school districts and advocates, argues that Ohio's Constitution requires the state to fund a single public school system and that the voucher program violates that requirement.
A community member said more than $12,000 has been raised through donations to help cover the district's legal costs. A separate motion to limit lawsuit expenses exclusively to donated funds was defeated in a 3-2 vote.

👮🏻♂️ K9 Ares Steals the Show During Mentor Safety Town Visits

MENTOR, Ohio — Participants at Mentor Safety Town recently spent several days learning about the people who help protect and serve the community through a series of interactive experiences with local first responders.
Children had the opportunity to meet firefighters, paramedics and Mentor Police Officer Wurgler, who was joined by his K9 partner, Ares. The visits gave young attendees an up-close look at emergency vehicles, specialized equipment and the important responsibilities first responders carry out each day.
One of the program's most popular moments came when children met K9 Ares, whose demonstration and appearance quickly made him a favorite among participants. The experience provided students with a better understanding of the role police K9 teams play in public safety while helping foster positive relationships between children and law enforcement.
Organizers say these hands-on activities are designed to make first responders more approachable while reinforcing important safety lessons in a setting that is both educational and enjoyable.
Safety Town officials also recognized the many community partners who contributed their time and resources to make the program a success, helping create lasting memories for the children who attended.
